People who don't agree with my draft analysis should be sentenced to 37 years solitary confinement...

While this is true, Waddle being hurt all year brought his touches per game up significantly. Chase had to compete for touches with world-class wr, Jefferson.

He averaged 10 touches a game with Waddle in the first 4 weeks (9.5 if you count the UT game), so not really.

And that Chase stat proves my point of what will happen in the pros too.

Both guys are good and both guys have proven themselves I'm not disputing that, my only criticism is that Smith has years worth of tape while Chase has only one significant season. There is more of a chance being taken on Chase than Smith that's the only point I was trying to make. But regardless, both of them are No 1 receivers.

no way, there has never been a 166 lb WR who has made an impact in the NFL since the 1940's. Devonta Smith is a much more risky pick. Both players being fairly equal in all other aspects, why take a risk on the 166 lb WR verse the 205 lb WR

All Chase needed was 1 season.

Disney animators couldn't create a more perfect wide receiver.

Top of mind: Marquise Brown, Desean Jackson, Cole Beasley - it's not as rare as you think.

6’1 and running a 4.5-4.6 isn’t exactly perfect wide receiver material

Calvin Johnson or Julio Jones are names you are looking for

I understand what you saying and for the most part I agree, the only reason I would take a risk on the smaller WR in this situation is because Smith went up against top class CBs for years in the SEC and consistently proved himself. He proved his size and weight doesn't matter when it comes to producing in the game regardless if the defense keys in on him or not

That’s who you’re shooting for with taking Smith early in the 1st? Lol

I think you’re better off playing him in the slot in the NFL. He’d probably kill that.

These guys are small.

Now Smith, at 6' 166 lbs - that's a beanpole.

those are all much shorter and thicker players. No one in the NFL has as slender a build of Smith at 6' 166.

The rant needs more of these healthy debates with other fanbases instead of the typical shite slinging we see on the daily here

wrong, try 6' 208 lbs running a 4.38 40ty who catches every ball thrown in his direction and is strong enough to shake off tacklers after the catch.

You can count on LSU fans like this for complete objectivity when it comes to Bama players.

That was hand timed. An actual laser time would be 4.5-4.6

So I guess Pitts' hand timed 4.44 40 was more like a laser-timed 4.6-4.7 right?

Ok. OP's argument was that Chase doesn't deserve to be drafted ahead of Smith because Chase sat out the covid season.

How's that for objectivity?

Smith is just really skinny. There's nothing mean-spirited or subjective about that. It's just that Chase is at least as good and he's bigger.

If you're Atlanta or Cincinnati and you want a WR, why would you not pick Chase?

Now you know he's not going to bring that up because Pitts didn't play for LSU.

not likely. Plenty of film of Chase outracing supposedly fast CB's to the end zone. Justin Jefferson ran a 4.43 laser at the combine and Chase looked to be the fastest player on the field in every game in 2019
