Like had to tell a fellow (insert school here) fan 3 sheets to the wind to cut it out harassing either other fellow fans, or rival fans visiting on gameday?

After the 1997 UF game there were a group of LSU fans rocking a mini van occupied by a UF family that was stopped in traffic. A group of us broke it up. It's the only time I've been embarrassed to be a fan, and the only time I've witnessed one of these mythic encounters between LSU fans and opposing fans.

I probably blew my chance at getting laid after the 2010 Bama UF game. My date was drunk after the game as we were walking back to my apartment, and we were walking beside this Florida gal who was minding her own business. My date started heckling her, a little too hard for my taste, and I told my date to cut that shite out, and apologized to the UF gal. I don't think that my date thought that that was cool, because the vibes changed between us, and she ended up going home. Her loss.

I have not but in Tiger Stadium 2 years ago I was about to have get into it with 2 mid 20 something's drinking airplane bottles of Sutter Home. Right before OT one of the guys kept getting in my face. As I told my group "Next time he touches me its on". A couple of behind us came down and pushed the drunk arse holes and the wife sat between us and said we had been good fans and I shouldnl't have to deal with that. I appreciated that so I didn't get sent to the BR jail that night.

I was standing in a surge of people trying to get into a UGA-UTk game. This was years back before UGA changed up some of their entrances so the entire of Sanford Bridge was packed trying to get into 3 ticket lines. These two drunk sorority girls were pushing through the crowd, cutting in front of people until they got to where I was standing. A couple Vol fans don't like this and start yelling at them for cutting in line. The sorority girls start yelling back and before you know it they're all in each others faces and the Vol fans are getting ready to throw down. I had to put out my arm and push back the 2 girls before the Vol couple kicked their asses.

In the 96 UGA-USCe game, I was leaving the stadium when I saw drunk jacked UGA fan screaming at a Carolina dad and his son for no reason at all. The dad was in no position to do anything to this guy and neither was I. I didn't do or say anything. As I've gotten older and had my own kids, I've thought about that scene and how horrible that was for the kid to see his father totally emasculated like that.

For a bit I started to think that every story was going to involve LSU or UF

Thank you for your addition, some good stories in here so far

I did it at the Florida game this past season. Walking to the car and this group of about 6 or 7 guys is yelling out that Florida sucks and are a bunch of fig**ts and all this other crap. I yelled out "that's enough of that shite for one night."

Of course, it didn't do anything and they just said "shut up" or something like that.

I told JT Bowtie to stop making Alabama fans look bad in 2009 in Starkville before the game. Does that count?

I had to physically stop my 8 year old son from gator chomping Florida fans in their faces as we walked to our car in Omaha after beating them for the title in 2023.

I was a proud father, but I also didn't want to get my arse beat either

I had to stop a UK fan from harassing Seraneaux at the fryer. I said “he could burn someone with that grease”. But he burned the fries anyway. Plus his hat fell in the fryer.

Can't say I've been in a situation that escalated to where I had to intervene in a physical confrontation (nor would I be physically capable of stopping one if I did) - but I have asked fans, hell even some friends, to tone it down a bit. I also have apologized on their behalf a few times and if at or near our tailgate i will offer the opposing fan a beer or some eats.

I learned this as a student at Mizzou (Big8 days, that is how old I am). I travelled to an away basketball game at Iowa State. We were getting it pretty good from some drunk the whole first half. Another fan came down at halftime from several rows up and apologized and asked that we please not think all ISU fans act like that. About the same time, the guy harrassing us disappeared. Pretty sure the fan who apologized also notified security and got the guy "relocated".

Dad made the smart choice: ignore drunk fan. Go home with his son and I'm certain his son is glad his dad did not lower himself to drunk fan's level.

I was at that game. MSU fans were awful. Worst away crowd I've experienced. Surprising.

I had to tell my buddy to tone it down at the state fair one year. He was telling the Sooners to go check out the bathrooms that we have running water in there and they should check it out. It was funny once but after the 10th time I started getting annoyed.

Then true to form we lost the game by 49 points needless to say he never did it again
