Alabama has definitely let 4-5 national championships in football we "should" have had get away from us over the past 60 years.

That sounds pretty awful by itself, but considering we've won about 12 of them over that timespan our ratio of success to failure when contending for a title is pretty damn incredible. We tend to close.

Regardless, the ones that got away still suck. Losing to Ohio State in the 2014 season was inexcusable. That one bothers me far more than the Clemson loss believe it or not.

I guess not even showing up is choking. In, so much. Does getting to final fours and losing by 20 count too?

Yep. UGA football, Arky baseball, Mississippi State women's basketball. Shitty year for these three

OU has blown many national title games and I've shed many tears, so no sympathy from me.

I hope this lost loss demorlaizes Arkansas fans.

I don't remember, did the Dan Marino TD pass in the last minute of the Sugar Bowl cost the Georgia Bulldogs? They were either #1 or #2 going into that game but I'm not looking it up.

A little different, but our women’s outdoor track team also finished 2nd, because some girl from Purdue blew a 10 meter lead with 100m left to go in the 4x400 relay to USC. Last event, and gave USC the title.

Thankfully they at least won the indoor title so that eases the sting of the outdoor loss.

Didn't cost them anything. Clemson was undefeated and won the Orange Bowl before the Sugar Bowl ended.

We are known for blowing things but National Championships are not one of them.
