The game needs national name brands.
The national name brands should win their semi-final games.

Even before the game it just wasn't a very intriguing matchup so I can see why the casual fan wouldn't tune in. Much less during the 65-7 beatdown.

I think the big thing I learned here is the steady negative trend line on viewership of BCS or CFP championships.

It has been said that ratings are down broadly due to less people with cable/satellite subscriptions. I think live sports is even more important to broadcasters now because of it. Especially if they can create lock-in to their network with exclusivity deals.

I can’t imagine anybody in their right mind thought TCU had the remotest chance. They win 7 games this year in the SEC.

They were really close to doing that in the Big 12 but they had just about every bounce possible go their way. Even when they lost the conference title, they had every bounce to their way to save face and get into the playoff. Then they got lucky to run into the only playoff team with a subpar quarterback and they essentially won off how many times he threw it right to them.

Last I checked UGA was top 5 with relation to most valuable college football programs.
Your so called national brands need to play better ball. Who gives a crap about viewer rating. A Natty is a Natty no matter how many viewers watch it.

I’ll make a bet with you if we’re still around in fifteen years. If football is gone then I’ll give you 1000$ if it’s not then you only gotta give me 100$
