In the Spring of 2021, donghorns and big brother sooner asked the SEC for an invitation to join the SEC. Donghorn and Sooner came begging the SEC for an invite. When the networks showed little interest in renewing the Big 12 media rights, 'sip and her big brother could see the writing on the wall. They had managed to run another conference into the ground. SEC was the only conference that would even consider taking both of them.
I am looking forward to playing 'sip and donghorn on a yearly basis. The rivalry never should have ended. Had it not been for a butt hurt Deloss Dodds, it probably never would have.

It’s not very fair to assume that. Even if Texas were in the SEC West this year, and beat Alabama during conference play, Texas lost to OU, and barely beat:
Houston (4-8)
Kansas State (8-4) at home in 3OT
TCU (5-7)
Iowa State (7-6)
It is more fair to assume Texas would drop 2 or more games vs. a higher level of competition and go 9-3 vs. run the table in the SEC.

USF (7-6)
Arkansas (4-8)
A&M (7-6)
Auburn (6-7)
And lost to Texas.
