CBS

quote:

"Guys wouldn't even leave there," said one Power Four GM. "We were throwing stupid stuff out there, and they wouldn't leave A&M."

When we paid to bring in four starting OL to rebuild our OL, I was very surprised none of the young highly recruited guys left.

quote:

"LSU is almost in a tier of its own this year," said one SEC front office staffer.

Explains why they are having to sell future media revenue for immediate cash.

Aggie is a second tier program. Perpetual losers. All they will ever be.

A&M went and got offensive linemen from the three worst running teams in the conference.

As one SEC front office staffer explained, there are a few schools in their own category: Miami, Oregon, USC, Texas and Texas A&M.

Miami is top dog in Florida. They own title counts and series records over both Florida and Florida State.

(USC, Oregon) West Coast bennies can still reign supreme

(Texas, Texas A&M) - Two favored sons of the most oil rich state in the union. You cannot spell spOILed without three little letters

You would think Texass, with the resources they have, both short horns and Aggie would be far more successful than they have been. Doing less with more is the state motto ??

If you don't think aTm is spending huge dollars on NIL you're an idiot!

This is not a fact. Nothing has been sold.

I heard a NIL guy on the radio the other day say that A&M has close to $20 million committed to their 2027 class

Gotta be. It’s a shame both of them haven’t won any national championships in the big 3 6 years into the NIL era.

So spending has gone up 50% in the past year in the land of the great auction. Someone explain once again how sustainable all this uncontrollable spending and bidding is when there are no rules.

It’s all about roster management. You could have five of the top 100 players in the country but collectively they could cost you 20 million.

One thing is for sure is it’s definitely made the bad Teams better since second and third team players are transferring to start

with lsu I just worry about depth and injuries but I think we all face that worry. good depth is different than average depth. back in the les years we could lose guys on defense and barely miss a beat

People talk about 50-million-dollar rosters like it's a badge of honor. 2 seasons from now, it will easily be 100 million dollars to stay in the top 10 tier of talent.

Competitive basketball teams were completely flipping rosters almost immediately after the pay-for-play. This season, LSU football brought in 60 players, with the norm for teams at about 50 players per team. That number is guaranteed to only go up with all the new rules of engagement.

Sanders at Colorado was considered an idiot for completely flipping his roster each season when he came in just a few years ago. Turns out he was just a trendsetter.

It’s like when Saban made news for being the first coach with the massive contract.

We will look back in 3 years and every sec team will be above 50m

I just don’t know how the donors keep up with all of this. Every school has rich donors who are good for a one or two time donation but now they are expected to give every year

That is my question. I mean, we aren't talking about $100 handshakes or an envelope w/ a few thousand it in it. Boosters are having to pay millions with zero ownership stake.

Looking at LSU's roster, I have no idea how that cost $40 million. The only elite player is Seaton

It cost nearly 50 million according to that article - they paid a LOT for their latest transfer class.

I can't speak for Aggie but there are too many decision makers at UT who want to win the nice way. They worry about headlines. We're too classy for guys like Urban or Nick. And that is why we will more times than not come up short.
