He had a chance at a double play to end the game.

I know Arkansas hates us with the heat of a thousand Sons, but I love how passionate they are about college baseball. Put them in the same category as Miss St. Very serious about something I love, I appreciate it. I don’t feel nearly the same way about basketball. SEC baseball is where it’s at.

My humble opinion: It will happen. It will happen relatively soon. It will not happen with DVH @ the helm. From a Geaux Tigers perspective, I truly respect what he has done, but if 2018 didn't close the book - 2025 certainly did. Can the sea's part and provide a path in DVH's twilight? Certainly. Likelihood - low. I'll still root for DVH and by proxy - I guess Arkansas. Overarchingly, I think yall's best shot going forward under DVH is a total wildcard similar to this year's OU team. As long as the Omaha path didn't run through Baton Rouge, I would get behind. In Omaha, shite happens and I wouldn't be too mad if the baseball god's put their finger on AR over LSU. Being said, Frick Arkansas and Geaux Tigers

2022 we played only one team that put a loss on us in that tourney. Arkansas. And barely lost the rubber match. It’s impossible to tell when a team just gets hot. They have to have talent yes. But that talent has to be playing their best ball.

The problem is not Arkansas getting hot but having unique meltdowns in the end of games during post season.

You had your chance! All you had to do is catch a foul ball and you would have had your title and the SEC streak would have been 9 right now

This is brutal but absolutely true. You wouldn’t give Ole Miss any quarter either.

ehh dont say that. Ray Tanner had a 56-6 team playing in a super vs Lousiana Layfette .....and we lost.

But along came 2010 and 2011 who won a title

It's kind of crazy that in their first 2 years in the SEC....

Oklahoma
Baseball National Champs
Softball 2x SEC Champs

Texas
Baseball SEC Champs 2025??
Softball 2x National Champs

Winning the CWS requires talent, timing, chemistry and a bit of luck. Every team that previously won, they had those four items. Unfortunately for you guys in 2018, luck smiled on Oregon State.

It's not where you start its where you finish. With 2 Championship series and a Natty in 4 years I can tell you Skip don't give AF.

And the Sooners had a 14-16 conference mark at the start of the regionals. Goes to show it's how you finish.

You have much more confidence than I do that our administration will replace him with another topnotch coach. It shouldn't be hard to do so, given our baseball pedigree, but I don't trust them to make the right hire.

"After DVH retires".....a lot of MLB media is saying that TV getting fired by the Giants is all but done, sooner rather than later. Will the Hawgs let DVH coach one more year & risk TV signing elsewhere?

This is the biggest risk Arkansas has. They need to get rid of DVH while Vitello is free or before Wes Johnson wins a natty at UGA. DVH is gonna stick around just long enough for Vitello to go elsewhere and for Wes Johnson to get fully planted in UGA.

The only crazy part of that is the baseball part. Oklahoma had already been dominating softball for quite awhile prior to joining the SEC.

No way of knowing, but I kind of wonder how things would've played out for y'all, in baseball this year, if you hadn't been in the SEC. Would they have went to a different regional and played different teams, potentially coming across one that was playing hotter or matched up better? Were they more prepared, for the tournament competition and atmosphere, after having to face the gauntlet of SEC play week in and week out (compared to Big 12)? Not taking anything away form Oklahoma, they were definitely the best team in the off-season. Just interesting to think or wonder how little things like that could've aided in y'alls run to the NC.

I think so as long as DVH is the coach. He's had three teams capable of winning it all. All lacked that killer instinct.
