How and when are the deer dropped off? If you are taking in whole or field dressed, the majority are going to show up on the weekend. If you are taking in previously quartered deer in ice chests, they may come in one a weekday; but now you have different issues with the big one being having to process some of these immediately because they've been on ice for a few days already.

How and when will they be picked up? If you are still working some, this leaves weeknights and the weekend. If you set pickup hours, then you have to be there; but it won't matter some people will show up all hours of the day regardless of whether you are there or not.

Are you doing this at your house/shop? Even if you are selective with the clientele, you can't control who they bring for pickup and drop off. Do you really want that sketchy, friend of a friend who rides along seeing your place and taking inventory?

How are you going to handle CWD? Its now confirmed close enough to that area to be an issue.

Does it really take you 2 hours to go through the entire process including breakdown of equipment, decontamination, and cleaning between successive deer? Are you packaging and is that included in the time?

Folks will give you shite about the title - as they should. However, the content is correct, albeit very premature.

It is widely accepted that Saban surpassed the Bear as GOAT. It isn't that clear cut in baseball. Objective and subjective arguments can be made for Dedeaux, Augie, and Skip as the GOAT. There is no doubt these 3 are on college baseball's Mount Rushmore and will remain for a long time - potentially forever.

Therefore, this is the universe you look to put Jay in after 4 years. At this point, he is a damn strong candidate, and 1 of only 2 still coaching, but it is premature. Via an AI estimate there have been approximately 1500 coaches total that have had a chance to win a natty: 3 have won more than 3, 4 have won 3 (P. Casey being the most recent), and 10 have won 2 (with T. Corbin being the only other active coach).

Cumulatively, 43 of 1500 coaches have won a national title in baseball (2.87%). However, the aforementioned 17 coaches accounted for 52 natties or 67%. Jay currently exists in an elite class of coaches with 2 or more championships, comprising of 17 of 1500 coaches all time (1.1%).

To add a bit more context, the average amount of seasons between these coaches 1st and second natty was 3.75 to 4.35 years (depending upon how you account for A. Lopez and Augie at CSF and Texas). Regardless, the trend is this: across these 17 coaches that have multiple national championships the overwhelming majority win their first and second within 4 years or across 1 to 2 recruiting classes. The 3 GOATS did it across multiple recruiting classes, years, and decades.

Thus, while we can quantify that Jay Johnson is an elite coach and in the top 1.1% all time - based upon results, it is premature to put him in the same universe as Skip, Augie, and Dedeaux.

The mixture should be reapplied several times. Without getting to much into the chemistry, the mixture doesn't mask the smell, it changes the structure of the mercaptins (stink compounds) so that they can be encapsulated by the soap and washed away. However, striped skunks have 2 additional compounds within their spray that are not activated until they interact with water.

So if you wash with the mixture once or twice and then wash it off with water, you have now reactivated the smell.

I fell into this trap the first several times I planned the weekend up there. TB is a wonderful place to fish, relax, and spend a few days. Also, you should consider the "difficulty" of fishing white perch on Toledo Bend in June on your first trip.
