LSU fans, what is up with Brandin Harris?

He seemed to have so much promise. His DT ability would seem to help in the Bama game? Is t a mental thing like Jeremy Johnson, tons of talent but mentally is a flop?

i think it is mental.

some people have it some don't

look at etling (reminds me of brandon cox) not talented but just knows how to lead and manage

BH isn't really a DT. he would rather get sacked than take off

Etling reminds me of Chad Pennington.

Not the most talented, but he's accurate and can read a defense. A true game manager like LSU has needed.

Watching that clip was actually the most of LSU football I've seen this year. All I've seen are a few highlights.

From that little sample, Etling look decent to me. Actually did see him look to a second receiver a couple of times - not often but didn't seem to need a second option that much. Reminded me a little of Greg McElroy actually.

I think Alabama needs to press the receivers and get him off those first reads. If they can do that the pressure will get there often, hopefully a couple of those lead to picks/fumbles.

When option 1 is open, why look at option 2?

but the glaring one was that he is locked in on one receiver every play. Literally every play he only had one receiver in mind, and threw to that receiver whether he was open or not. I didn't ever see him come off his original read and check down or switch targets.

LSU strategy has been to take more advantage of the short "possession" type passes to spread the field. Those plays normally don't have much progression designed into them.

In fact I think that is what the problem with LSU offense the last few seasons has been. They have been trying to run those pro plays with 3-4 progressions and neither Harris nor Jennings could do it. Last one we had that could was Mett.

I will say I have seen Etling come off his primary and dump to the outlet safety valve several times for decent play success.

Yeah because LSU doesn't have an oline right? I know it's hard to believe but Bama defenders won't have a clear and easy path to the QB.

I read your post and came away with several criticisms. 1-You don't understand the meaning of the word "literally" and 2- You are either blind or stupid.

On many drop backs, yes, yes they will.

I don't know, I remember him having some success running. Maybe his indecision was due to Cam Cameron's style of Offense?

I concede to LSU fans on this as I didn't watch all his games.

I think he has running ability and can be taken advantage of if the offense is geared that way. I obviously could be mistaken.

Dear God, it never ends. At least you provided video so we could watch 30 seconds and scoff at all the really simple the things you don't understand.

Etling goes through his progressions extremely well. That's one of the reasons he has been so successful. What he does have trouble doing is throwing the long ball IF that is not his first progression. He simply does not have the arm strength to throw the long ball without a proper drop. Like most quarterbacks in the SEC. But since O took over he has consistently found his second and third receiver and worked the TE's and RB's in well.

U are making it up are you just don't know what the hell you are talking about. He as quick release and his strength as opposed to BH6 is his ablility to go through progressions and hit the check downs. Jesse Palmer commented on this fact several times this week and when LSU pounded Mizzou.
