This answers one of the questions I had on Harris.

Reminded me a little of Greg McElroy actually.
He reminds me of McElroy. He's smart and he's mature enough to read a defense and make good throws. A good game manager.

well your blind. the ones where he didn't go to his 2nd read were because the first was open.

Nah dude, if your 1st read is wide open you are supposed to ignore him...

I don't know, I remember him having some success running

only against you guys.

couple his indecisiveness with the read options which weren't really options and he only ran really when it was either wide open or a called qb run

Ok, to say there was no need to move on to the second read in this game is a valid point. OM's defense is terrible. But there were still some throws in that tape that were ill advised and were only made because he was stuck on one receiver.

The only other time I watched a game that involved Etling was when LSU played AU, and I don't recall him doing anything worth remembering in that game, so it was probably more of the same

but he did! Watch the video, i'm not making this stuff up. Don't get so defensive

Took less than 30 seconds to see a play where he looked more than 1 direction. Sorry.

those are called designed screens where you begin looking one direction and throw to your ONE read on the other side.

LSU fans, what is up with Brandin Harris?

The only thing he's excelled at since being at LSU are 20+ yard passes.

He actually does lock in on a WR, can't hit short throws and can't throw a receiver open.

Field vision is poor, so even on open mid-range throws, he often would leave the WE or TE out to dry and get lit up by the safety.

His arm talent isn't worth all the insufficiencies.

Etling does everything else well. His deep ball is below-average but he's better than Harris in every other area of the game.

Also, Etling is able to step up into the pocket instead of dropping right into the DE's path. He still gets sacked, but at least now either our OL gets legit beat or the DL has to earn it. No more cheap sacks due to poor pocket awareness.

lol there's a play in there where the pocket collapses, he shifts right then up and throws a short arm laser for a 22 yd gain to his third look on the play
