After seeing all the votes in the last thread I was in... I'm gonna guess this isn't enough, and they'll want blood.

I bet they saw the headline to the story and didn't look into it a bit further. "Oh, Alabama has murderous drug dealers... DEATH PENALTY!"

I'm all for proper punishment. Glad they're suspended.

Frankly, only certain people are in any way surprised by this. Anyone paying even the slightest attention knows Saban is very much a disciplinarian. It would have been far more shocking if he hadn't done this. You don't have to like Saban or Bama to acknowledge that truth.

This will be the new talking point of the mouthbreathers.

They won't miss games and quite frankly I don't know if they should, but I do think Saban will bust both of their asses in off season work outs.

I look for the DA in Monroe to step down after his boneheaded commits which has the whole country laughing at his office.

Hopefully their community service will be to clean up the closed public park they were arrested in, that way making it safer/cleaner for all future drug deals. But do wonder if the Monroe police confiscated the stolen gun or was it returned due to..."insufficient evidence"? This punishment fits the crime & I have no problem with Saban being Saban re second chances in this instance , but the legal reasons are beyond belief. I mean, a drug deal was going down or had gone down. Sitting in a car after midnight in a closed public park with a gun in one's lap & a bag of weed on the seat? Worst part is this will take up at least 3 hrs on Finebaum's show. Time to stop watching again.

If theyre serving community service why do you care about practice or game time?

Eh, is it a meaningful suspension?

I wouldn't be surprised if the reaction to the dropping charges played into this. Nearly all of the CFB media thought the situation was absurd.

just seems pretty hypocritical.

We had a similar instance with a star player who was caught with a gun in his car. He was on a road at that, not in a public park. Even though the charges were dismissed, he was still instantly booted off the team. People call us thuga and say richt wasn't a disciplinarian, but the facts would prove otherwise. So now we have almost the same situation, and saban realizes he needs cam so they'll just miss a few workouts. Let's also remember that saban had no issues taking in a hoodlum (that UGA had previously kicked off the team for hoodlum things) because they needed the help.

I guess my thing is...people talk crap about UGA's discipline issues but AT LEAST we were hard on offenders. Saban seems to know how important cam is so he'll do whatever he can to keep him on the team. Tell me, if htis exactly same situation was the 3rd string punter do you think he'd still be on the team?

I'm not surprised. Saban doesn't put up with a lot of crap, and I'm sure he was pissed with the light their action shown on the program. One thing is for sure...with a control freak like Saban...nothing will be left up to a team vote.

Wasn't Crowell getting into trouble before his arrest? I don't think Cam or Hootie have had any kind of prior issues. He also booted Taylor as soon as he got in trouble, and his charges wound up getting dropped.
