It's a weird situation considering how the statement reads. You can make a pretty serious leap and say one of the players knows who stole the gun and that the other player had purchased it, knowing it was stolen. At the same time the statement could not mean that at all.

I see where Hootie was admitted as an inpatient for a 21 day treatment program and Cam wasn't. I'd guess that Hootie is the one with a possible legal problem going forward.

That suggests that it's more than weed.

Could be. I'm not trying to make accusations.

All we know for sure is either Cam or Hootie knew the gun was stolen and either Cam or Hootie knows how long whoever had the gun has been in possession of it and who it was bought from.

There are a lot of different assumptions that can be made from that info.

Saban has clearly lost control. Thank goodness we have Hugh Freeze.

That's not what the statement said.
Actually, the article says that but the Sheriff wasn't quoted saying it.

I'm going to post this one more time DIRECTLY FROM THE ARTICLE. I'll even bold the important part:

Third Paragraph

quote:

The two "Bama" players were in a car with two other men and that stolen gun is now the "smoking gun" in this case. The gun was stolen in Baldwin county and the Sheriff says one of the two players knows who stole the gun.

Man I'm sure it sucks missing summer workouts. That'll teach em.

WTF man? If they attend summer workouts then you'll say Saban is weak on discipline by allowing them on the team and you'll trash him for it. Now that he has suspended them, and they may miss summer workouts you accuse him of not teaching them a lesson?

Yeah I corrected that, but it could still be the reporter inferring that. It's a pretty poorly written article.

I agree 100%. It's all we have right now though. I'm assuming a thread will be created when something solid comes out.

When you have access to the one of the best training facilities in the country and are a potential top 5 pick in next year's draft, I imagine it sucks a little.

So they are suspended from using the facilities?
Are they suspended from the training table?
Have they been evicted from their housing that the scholarship provides?

This "indefinite suspension" is nothing more than lip service.
