Idk about this, but I haven't gotten the vibe that hes actually a good coach. Great recruiter though.

UGA doesn't spend that kind of money. We offer much less than other schools. We sweeten the pot by selling that our team will be in the national championship hunt every year and will surround the player with other extremely talented teammates.
This is the narrative and I assume it’s true. Having talented developed depth helps because you play fewer snaps and stay healthy. When I saw Washington had a 1200+ yard tailback I knew they were fricked. It’s far better to have 3 - 600 yard backs than one 1800 yard back. Better for eerybody

I'm sure he's getting less money than he would have at OSU. But we're paying him well with NIL. But people thinking this decision was based on money only or even primarily are dead wrong. He made his decision to play for Saban to be developed and to win a national title. Saban left, so where do you go? You go to the best place now. Having his position coach made it a no-brainer.

Don't know if that's true, but if it is then having him as the safeties coach and co-DC.
Schuman can handle the coaching parts of the Defense overall, and Kirby is an elite-safeties coach (so is Muschamp who's not on the field but is still on the UGA staff).
Perfect place for UGA to slot a recruiting specialist.

Spot on.

TRob called the plays for the defense this past season. So, I'm confident in saying he's a better DC than Pete Golding. And, Pete Golding is one of the highest paid DCs in the country.

Kirby always reminds me of Hernin Narajo from Narcos Mexico series.

It's not fun being on the outside looking in, is it?

You tell us? Does Alabama count their titles the past 15 years?

I honestly don't know how good a coach he is. But I do know that Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp are very good defensive coaches that specialize in the secondary, so I am not overly concerned.

Can your vibe give us a quote on T-Rob's coaching ability? some detail? Ready, set, go!

Well my "vibe" is that either Saban, Kirby, or any other coach in the country could have given him a DC position since he last had one in 2020 and no one chose to.
And even though he has one now, we all know its a title bump just to get him on the staff for his recruiting ability (and Downs is probably a bit of it too) and we all know Schumann and Kirby run that defense and will continue to do so.
The vibes tell me his defenses ranked 8th, 5th, 11th, and 10th in his time as DC as South Carolina. So it regressed over time AND got worse when he had his own guys in there. Literally one of the worst defenses in the SEC.
But hey, maybe you're smarter than every coach in college football who decided not to give him a job until now. You would think if he was this amazing coach he would have all kinds of suitors for a DC position given that he can recruit his arse off.

This is how I knew you're a sidewalk UGA fan... Probably never been there. I have...it's a ghetto.

He's a great tackler but he's not great yet in coverage and has a lot of difficulty with motion and things like that. He'll get better though. Great punt returner as well, played a lot of RB in high school.
Barney Rubble must be thrilled.
Wait. You're response is Caleb Downs ain't good?

I’m sure the giant $ bag he got and taking a starting spot won’t cause any issues in the locker room.
