LSU has only finished outside of the top 3 just one time since 2000 (they finished 4th in 2014).
That is pretty goddamn impressive

3rd.

LSU played better than I expected but Miami was overrated a great deal (said this before the game).

I doubt LSU can beat AU playing in Jordan Hare. AU is much better than Miami in every way. AU is not Miami, and Miami outgained LSU.

For LSU to beat AU, Joe Burrow is going to have to have a whale of game. AU will take away the run and make Burrow prove he can get it done.

I like AU by 7.

Very fair analysis. I said 11-1 at the beginning of the year and I stand by it still. I don't think this is the year we get the 800 lb gorilla off of our back. Other than Bama, this is the toughest game on our schedule (Week 3 @ Jordan Hare). If we can win this game, I will feel confident about my preseason prediction. If we go 11-1 with a close loss to Bama, gonna be hard to leave us out of the playoffs.

In saying all of this, I would also be happy with a 9-3 type year provided there are no WTF losses. Tough schedule. As a qualifier, we would also have to win our bowl and get to 10 wins for this to be deemed a successful year.

Sell. Beating up on a mediocre Miami team doesn't make us world beaters. Try having those same 4-5 drops against Alabama and see where that gets us.

Yes, I'll gladly accept LSU downvotes

I would be curious to know where you see seven more wins on that schedule.

Well if LSU beats Auburn, they are likely going to finish 3rd at worst, considering Auburn has two guaranteed losses later in the season in Athens and Tuscaloosa.

So yeah, decent chance we finish 2nd or better.

Tons of halfway decent quarterbacks are able to do this and complete way more than 31% of their passes for an average of 5.8 yards per completion.

46% but who's counting? Never mind the fact that he was playing on a big stage against a good defense in his first ever collegiate start. He definitely has work to do but there is no way someone can objectively say that LSU has no reason to be excited about his performance.

We finished 4th in 2002 (Auburn beat us in the head to head)
and in 2015 (Arkansas beat us in the head to head)

no he did not. the OP said he didn't see 5 losses. in order to not have 5 losses, you have to win...you guessed it, 8. now, show me 7 more wins like I had politely asked, while I straighten that Ole Miss degree on my office wall.

selling

Not only is the schedule brutal 3 west teams have byes before playing LSU and GA has two cupcakes leading up to matchup, I just don't believe EdO is outscheming anyone with 2 weeks to prepare.
