Unlucky Tiger posted, “ :pimp:” in another thread about it so I take that as a good sign.

ou are a jackarse if you think a 5 year old should be shooting a high powered rifle. Lil baw can’t even count to 50, but you might not be able to as well. Guys like you are why I refuse to hunt public land.

What a dumb comment. I promise my 5 year old will be more than safe shooting. He will only be shooting with me helping him for years. He will only be shooting on 1,500 acres of private land. He'll shoot a lot of paper long before I ever think about letting him shoot at an animal. He won't stay 5 forever either. He'll get a head start on marksmanship and gun safety. I don't see a single negative about getting him a gun now.

The problem I see is dads don't teach woodsman ship to kids anymore. They don't teach them how to hunt squirrels and how to walk in the woods. They are too eager to get the picture to post on the gram. Teach a kid how to hunt and read sign, not to see how young he can shoot a deer. Teach them to be hunters not shooters.

Again, he lives in the woods with me. He's already been on squirrel hunts, hog hunts, deer hunts, a couple of duck hunts, and is going dove hunting this year. I'm able to teach him how to shoot along with learning other skills.

If you want to shoot deer during the youth season don't post about it. In my opinion 5 is too young for a high powered rifle.

Well your opinion is shite and I've been around several young kids shooting ARs and they handled them well. I only bow hunt. Only time I'm in a box stand is when I have my kids with me. No desire to youth hunt.

First Deer Rifle For 5 Year Old?

My son turns 5 next month and is obsessed with guns and being out in the woods. He's a big kid and is very mentally mature for his age so I think it'll be a good time to start introducing him to shooting. I want something he can have forever and be useful even when he grows into larger calibers. I have a few guns in mind but figured I'd make a post here in case there was something I'm not thinking of.

I won a Browning BAR in 243 that has just been sitting in my safe so that's one option. I'm really leaning towards something in an AR platform though. A 6.5 Grendel or 6mm Arc suppressed AR is what I think I'm leaning towards. I think with either of those the recoil and sound will be minimal and it won't scare him.

Thoughts? Better options?
He got the Raptor instead of the Raptor R! He’s coming back!
He was called back up on those plays.
Crews is finally putting it all together. Over his last 12 games—including that massive 3-for-4 night against Philly tonight—he’s been completely electric. He’s hitting for average, showing real power, and causing chaos on the basepaths.

Check out the numbers from this 12-game stretch:

Slash Line: .319 / .373 / .532
Hits: 15-for-47
Runs: 11
RBIs: 7
SB: 2

The Power Breakdown:HR: 2
2B: 4
Total XBH: 6

Nearly half of his hits right now are going for extra bases. If I go back one or two more games he adds another bomb but his average dips below .300.

Hopefully this is the start of a long, successful career! :geauxtigers:

To be fair Arkansas may not be that good this year.

They’ve had their struggles but taking 2 of 3 from State is probably the most impressive weekend anyone has had this year.
I don’t have a link because it’s behind a paywall but you can search Twitter and NC State State fans are melting. Verge :hail: :hail:
He’s what we all thought Arik Gilbert would be.
I know them. She is definitely Mexican, you racist bitch.
