LSU looks like a 9-3 squad at this point. Finishing 9-3 in the tough West this year (plus a bowl win) would probably be enough for LSU to finish in the top 11. Considering preseason expectations, I think LSU fans should be pretty happy if that’s the end result. Having said that, I don’t think it would satisfy a large portion of the LSU fan base.

With LSU's schedule and replacing almost all of their offensive production from last year, I would be fine with a 9-3 regular season. But you're absolutely right, it would not satisfy a lot of our fan base. But, a lot of our fan base will be unable to differentiate how much more difficult the LSU schedule is this year compared to last. They will just see 9 wins being the same.

Buying. If LSU can tighten up the OL, look out. Burrow is legit and we have a running back. The defense will be just fine, despite the loss the of Chaisson. It would be a mistake to sleep on LSU. I’m not screaming playoffs; we have a long season ahead. But, this squad could throw a major wrench in the SEC.

Especially depending on when the loses come. If LSU beat Auburn, it is going to be very rough finishing with 3 loses after that start.

Sell. Bama and Auburn feel better still. LSU will finish third or fourth with State right there.

Exactly. And that’s too bad considering how brutal the West is this year

Well, lsu’s tough games are fairly spread out. 2015 was the worst losing three straight in November after being ranked 2nd in the nation in the first cfp poll

Good pocket presence, calm under pressure, good arm, didn’t force passes that weren’t there, threw the ball away rather than take a sack. His stats were not all that great, but he managed the game well and played the position well. Turn some drops into catches and tighten the OL, he will be more dangerous.

In his defense there were a few drops and the play calling became over conservative. He does seem to have a high football IQ

Tons of halfway decent quarterbacks are able to do this and complete way more than 31% of their passes for an average of 5.8 yards per completion.

I think they beat Miss St AND Georgia. I'm thinking 10 wins.

Hey look, it’s AshLSU incapable of having a football discussion because he knows absolutely nothing about the game other than “the refs screwed us.”

I am shocked.

I won’t necessarily disagree with that statement, but it was his first ever college start with a brand new offense. All things considered, he played well and has a ton of potential. Two more weeks of practice with real game film can make a big difference. I can’t say how we’ll look in two weeks, but neither can you. A lot of work has to be done, but it’s not impossible.

And yet LSU still won easily.Obviously he’s going to have to produce more in league play but I’m sure he’s smart enough to realize that.Hell I’d even be willing to wager on him working with the Offense he was just introduced to as we speak
