Incredible leadership by Bryce and Will.

I think their loyalty to Nick had something to do with this.

I think its cool that they are playing but as an Alabama fan would you not almost want to use the opportunity to get your younger QBs some real game experience against a quality opponent? Or is the thought that your starting QB for next year isn't currently on the roster?

Simpson may not be the starting qb for the first game but he will play, and he will be the starting qb by the 3rd game

I think a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round projection should be insured via Chubb or Lloyds against a career-ending injury (much like Peyton Manning had at Tenner). Then you'd see a lot less of the opt-outs...

Now being reported Alabama will have ZERO opt outs.

They love playing for Nick.

Saban making them drive that charger to and from New Orleans Wonder if Bama will try and claim a piece of the title with a win

Lol at you thinking Bama future 1st round draft picks are driving Chargers instead of Beamers and Benzes.

NIL Opt in bonus program

I agree with this.

But why not?

First... I'm glad they are playing. Football is best when the best players during the season are giving their best effort against the best competition.

Second... they are sacrificing a lot to play. I think this will be the new norm. Programs having to pony up $$$ for the post season run. With agents and underwriters telling players to stay out, there should be extra pulp in the Orange juice to compensate the risk. I think programs will be happy to pay it with what is on the line.

I think it's within the realm of possibility that both could come back for their senior seasons. They could receive enough in NIL next season equivalent to what they could make their rookie seasons.

They both have 7 figure NIL deals. They both took out insurance policies. They just want to play. It's refreshing but I would have liked to see the QB competition also, so I'm good either way.

Spring training will be here soon enough for QB competition.

I don’t see how that’s possible

Most positive sign of "culture" we've seen at Bama in a while.

No opt outs expected for Alabama.

The man is still the man. All hail Nick Saban, the head football coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Nothing but respect for those two guys. NFL players don't get to opt out once they realize they are not making the playoffs. Should be the same in college, opting out is just a simple form of quitting on your team, unfortunately the draft kings don't view it the same way

It’s not about making as much as they would their rookie year. Sooner you get off your rookie contract the better.

I can somewhat believe that but seriously they are making big-time NIL monies and there may even be a clause in their NIL contracts that opting out is NOT an option. This whole opting out of playing in bowl games is ridiculous. Hell if that's the way it is then they should have both quit after losing to LSU. LOL
