Either 1 would be great coming out of backfield on screen pass. I could see 1 or 2 of those going to the house...... Sam needs help in the passing game. Haven't seen many screens at all this season.

As LSU fan I can see some competitive traits for both teams. Kiffin's recruiting philosophy was actually pretty cool to listen to. Ole Miss has some gamers much like LSU. Both starting QB's are difference makers. The difference in the game will depend on 2 things (assuming turnovers are minimal for each team): 1. LSU defensive front against OLE MISS front
and 2. OLE MISS defensive backs against LSU receivers (particularly Tre' Dez Green). Tigers win those 2 battles and it's a 2 possession win. If the Tigers win 1 of the 2 it's a 1 possession win for somebody. Looking forward to the rivalry continuing w competitive games ..... Geaux Tigers!

Longhorn fans witnessed a good one Sat. night. So many opportunities for "The" Ohio State Buckeyes to seal the deal. I counted 11-11 in hindsight. What a game for the ages! AWESOME!

1-3. 3 fumbles - all from offense, and all recovered by Texas
4-5. 2 4th down conversions - in their own territory. Well done!
6-8. 3 passes incomplete to Mr. All-American (Smith) - all in his hands. Great defense!
9-10. 2 times OSU did NOT let Texas score from 1 yard line. Clock was at 1:23 and ended up under 30 seconds....
11. For SURE the BIGGEST: Missed FG in 4th qtr by OSU.

Can only imagine the "thrill of victory" after such a frustrating game for over 2 1/2 quarters.

But first ... the latest "news" about LSU's "pending" punishment:

"The punishments will come for LSU; don't doubt that, but it looks like the SEC will still be home to the Tigers."

How we got here:
1. SEC meeting to NOT have "pro" players on roster or eligible was agreed to by the league members before season started.
2. LSU has since then been "keeping their options open" to having them (2 players) on roster and hopefully eligible thru Coach Kiffin's public remarks, law suit (temporary restraining order), leaving 2 spots open on opening day roster, and allowing the "pro" players to practice w team.
3. LSU admin. had been publicly quiet leading up to the season - letting Kiffin speak to media.
4. Rumors have been circulating that Coach Kiffin reached out to the players and gave them the idea about coming back to play college football (due to the 5-5 rule - ask your Mom & Dad about that).

Where we are at today (9/10/2026):
1. SEC meeting today will be to discuss current situation (de-escalation) and if there should be any punishment for LSU for what is perceived as "lack of institutional control" b/c Coach Kiffin seemed to be going against league agreement to not roster "pro" players by his actions and words while the administration (by their lack of actions) seemed to be in agreement w Coach Kiffin.

The question of the day is should the SEC punish Coach Kiffin and LSU?
As a Tiger fan the answer is unequivocally NO! However, for any other SEC member program the perception is LSU was letting Coach Kiffin lead the way in this "legal" battle over eligibility and the TRO (temporary restraining order) was going against newly created SEC policy. Therefore they want to punish at minimum Coach Kiffin for his defiance and possibly the university monetarily for allowing it to happen. That's all I got.... Geaux Tigers!

If Kiffin would just shut the frick up and quit tyring to get in the last word every chance he gets then there is NO reason for SEC to do anything. The problem is the LSU administration is winding him up and letting him keep the kettle pot boiling. Just shut his arse the frick up and "spot the ball." The SEC powers that be see LSU as keeping the door open to rostering and possibly playing these 2 "pro" players. The SEC powers that be have also spoken and come up with penalties for doing so. I mean if the judge in BR keeps the TRO rolling then all hell is going to break loose and there will be many players in portal ready to be picked up/signed. What a country! :geauxtigers:

Kiffin only said he would comply w SEC if TRO is overturned. What if TRO is upheld? If TRO is upheld the SEC may continue to push the envelope to another level. Then what? LSU gets kicked out of conference? Probably not. LSU sanctioned by other members of SEC? Probably. Assuming no other teams in SEC can sign these guys then I'm o.k. with that and so should LSU powers that be IMHO. Kiffin needs to just let this play out and shut the frick up! Let the people in charge of LSU athletics make this call. Can anyone say "de-escalate" and mean it w good intentions. I doubt it. This will come back to haunt LSU for years to come if these guys join the team. The SEC will do everything in their power to make sure of that. I'm changing my pussy vote. I'm de-escalating/punting. Say in the future a Harold Perkins-type player decides to go "pro" after his junior year. He doesn't make a roster. Decides he wants to return to college and make some NIL money and avoid the "real world." IF..... this ruling holds up what prevents this from happening? Hell, he could do this again the following year as well. IF.... the premise for this entire argument is these guys did not have opportunity to stay in college b/c the 5-for-5 rule was passed after they decided to go "pro" then that makes sense IMHO. However, unless it's spelled out I see this as a slippery slope and another hot mess for college sports. Rantards - enlighten me please.

The latest information gathering 1 week b/f our Tigers suit up against Clemson is that LSU will be able to play the ex-NFL players next Sat. The regular season seems to be setup w/o any penalties. The rub is when it comes time for 12 team playoff selection. The early projections are that LSU will be 10-2 or even 9-3 w a solid shot at top 12 based on strength of schedule. However, you can bet your sweet arse if we are in the mix with any other teams for that 12th spot that we are screwed - just like ND in 2025.

The other argument (as I'm sure some of you are thinking) is that LSU will be very, very, very good with the new pieces to the puzzle and go 11-1 or 12-0. That will get them in the playoff and probably a bye in round1.

I think that about covers it 1 week away from kickoff. Should we play these guys or not?
