re: Coastal was pretty disappointing.

I DISAGREE 100% with the subject title and totally agree that their pitching was good. If CC hits 1/3 w runners in scoring position they WIN the series.
LSU won this series by playing small ball and it was glorious. Frey had a warning track drive that LF misread which was only long ball hit all day on Sunday by LSU. It was enough. CC was a worthy foe. They should have stuck to their usual script. Anyways, props to them for competing to the end. They had their chances - all the way to the last out.

+1. Typical Les Miles play call. Defender was all over Byrd.

re: Jones Needs One More Year...

Posted by DrD on 6/26/25 at 2:33 pm
1) it isn't happening. Why not?
2) they have coaches in the minors. They have coaches in college.
3) he can play more and develop in MiLB. More games.... True!

Jones definitely needs 1 more year! My top 10. Here's why:
1) Opportunity to set the all-time record for HOME RUNS! Wow!!!
2) Opportunity to be a part of 3 national championship teams!
3) Opportunity to go down as most accomplished 1st baseman in the history of LSU baseball.
4) With NIL definite possibility to make as much or more than any signing bonus in 2025.
5) Opportunity to improve his game at the college level for 1 more year.
6) Opportunity to play at LSU in front of packed house every home game.
7) Opportunity to play at LSU in front of packed house most road games.
9) Opportunity to enjoy college life for 1 more year.
10) Opportunity to put on the purple and gold for 1 more glorious season!

Did I miss anything? Come on RANT we need to get our 2026 roster going now! Jones surely reads the RANT after all the nice things we have been saying about him all year - especially after the 5 strike out performance against Ark. - me included. LOL Geaux Tigers!

I recall a softball game this year where the guy from baseball team came over and started w the L....S....U chant. Superfan just chilled out and let him do his thing. K-Lady could have taken a page out of his playbook and backed off. I realize when you are the baseball Superfan "K-Lady" all season it can be a bit humbling when the softball Superfan shows up all of a sudden at the CWS and happens to be right next to you and gets all the attention.

The parts I don't get:
(A) Why make it all about your kid. To me that's just a cop out
(B) Her "need" to follow up on Tigerdroppings w her explanation of things
(C) Suggesting that no one was wanting to take pics w him. I mean he has a belt, gold chains, decked out to the 9's. Really?
(D) Cussing like a sailor in front of your own kids and acting like a bitch
(E) Complaining about him jumping from open seat to open seat when everyone in the ballpark knows that it's common practice at CWS - mainly b/c some seats are vacant due to other teams getting eliminated and a few of those high-priced seats don't resell. We had 4 standing room only tickets and were able to sit in good seats all around (moved 3 times)

Pretty obvious she was butt-hurt and was just lashing out at him for doing what he is known to do. Hence the title "Superfan." I don't have a problem with it. Love his passion for LSU. Maybe he will tone it down a bit in the future but I doubt it.

BTW: I did get "Most School Spirit" in high school so he's kind of a kindred spirit w me although I was not nearly to his level.

ADMIN consideration...... bring it!

Enough w the spelling bee bull shite. If Tigerdroppings had spell check (sort of) it would help. Just lay off the there/their and other misuses of the English language. You look like an idiot even respondng. Everyone knows how to spell dumbass. LOL :doublebird:
+1 on the 3fify ref. Only Tiger Droppings!

re: Sunday day game in triple digit heat.

Posted by DrD on 6/20/25 at 5:36 pm
That doesn't mean we can't clash w the mighty NBA. Hell, the way these sissies play it will be a 20+ blowout by half-time like G6. I don't even understand the need for referees. They never blow the whistle until it's crunch time (for the super-stars) or meaningless minutes. Walking violation should be changed to running violation. They got some talent but the game is not being played competitively..... Maybe G7 will rate but I doubt it.

LSU vs CC however is another ANIMAL! Sampson and against Goliath (or something like that). If they moved the game to Sunday at 6 PM (for the safety of the student-athlete) I would be fine w that. Otherwise bring on the 100+ degree heat. Cajun Nation should feel right at home.....
Geaux Tigers
In honor of the Hogs I promise to root for them in their next championship series - as long as it's not our Tigers. Props to them for a GREAT effort. It took a miracle to win that game. Cest La Vie. Geaux Tigers!

re: Carolina being disrespectful

Posted by DrD on 6/20/25 at 12:38 pm
Wonder how LSU would answer same question about Coastal Carolina. Jeez..... Show some respect for your opponent. It's the frickin' FINALS!
Granted, CC may indeed win base on their winning streak and all that but they are about to face their toughest test of the season for all the marbles. I like our chances. Geaux Tigers!

Never been to LSU baseball game live but have watched every game on TV over the years. Flying up to Des Moines on Sat. evening. Hoping to get tickets for game on Sunday. Meeting up w my daughter who is driving over from Lawerence, Kansas. Geaux Tigers!
Eyanson wasn't throwing his best pitch (curve) at all in 1st inning. That was his issue. Opposite was Evans. Evans came out throwing his good stuff early against UCLA. Eyanson did not. That's what I saw. However, I did think Eyanson had found his groove after 1st inning and he was dialed in ready to put up a string of scoreless innings b/f the rains. Hopefully, he will adjust next outing and throw more variety of pitches early and often.

Jared Jones and Michael Braswell tips......

Posted by DrD on 6/16/25 at 4:21 pm
DEFENSIVELY - I got nothing. You 2 guys are the best of the best from what I have seen all year. Matter of fact our SS and 2B defensive specialists are as good as advertised as well. Enough about DEFENSE.

OFFENSIVELY - I got a lot of b.s. to offer. JONES - WTF! 5 fricking strikeouts.... Are you BLIND! Jesus..... I know you're in a slump. Been there done that. What I notice is you take good pitches or barely miss hitting them fair and swing at a lot of b.s. that isn't even hittable. Take a breath and ZERO in on fastball down the frickin' middle - DICK high! Move on from there.... BRASEWELL my MAN! WTF are you trying to do - hit the highest pop up in the history of baseball? Jesus.... how about spit your gum out b/f you step in the box and hit a frickin' line drive right at the pitcher's head. I'm done. Good luck getting a hit tonight.

:geauxtigers:  :geauxtigers:
+1. That was phenomenal. The look on Gage Wood's face was awesome. Talk about dialed in. Reminded me of the old Tom Seaver (Mets) vs Bob Gibson (Cardinals) pitching duels back in the day. 2-1 games routinely. Here it is - hit it if you can. Murray State simply could not..... Props to Ark. pitcher. Well done!

Would like to see replay of that HBP again..... Looked to me like the catcher's glove caught the baseball but the carom off the batter's shoe caused the ball to ricochet. I don't know how they clarify a HBP but that was suspect on initial view. Surprised catcher didn't dispute.... After all HISTORY was in the making. Is what it is.....
Maybe so but you have to admit that was cool to watch. Gage Wood was dealing! If Chase Shores could get command of his pitches like that we could see similar results. Well done!

BTW: I will be going back to look at the HBP in 9th but to me it looked like the catcher's glove was between the ball and batters cleat. Does that matter? Would have loved to see the 1st PERFECT game in CWS history!
Decided to do a little something different and check out the RANT during the game to see everyone's brilliant insights and observations.

Instantaneous updates and predictions throughout the game. Good stuff! A little over the top at times (when things aren't going our way) but always entertaining!

Loved the reference about the babe in front row w the nice rack. Priceless!

Give our opponent some props. Their pitching was very good last night. They also had very timely hitting. We helped w all the walks to put a bunch of runners on base throughout the game but they played a great game in all areas including strategy once they got the lead. They have been battling elimination games for 2 weeks now. Very impressive. Takes some character just to do what they have done. Playing with house money indeed. However, tonight is where the rubber meets the road. Bring your best and hope for the best. That's baseball..... Today is another day. UALR plays like they did Sunday night again and Tigers will need to bring the A game and send our visitors up north home for the summer. Let it happen.

re: What The Batting Order Should Be

Posted by DrD on 6/2/25 at 3:20 pm
+1. That's the lineup that we can score 6-8-10 runs routinely.
This type of logic is commonly referred to as "wishful thinking." I imagine if someone has bet on UALR to win it all they will be a BILLIONAIRE. The chances of UALR even making their conference play-in tournament depended on a coin flip. WTH? Great run so far. Hats off to you. But tonight - this night - victory belongs to our LSU TIGERS! I like our chances. May the cream rise to the top! GEAUX TIGERS!

:geauxtigers: :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:
YES he needs to sit. However, we are in a MUST WIN game and he has been 1 of the reasons we are where we are. You go with what brought you. It's not complicated. Jones is also an all-star type defensive 1st baseman as well. All these athletes have a shrink on staff. I'm sure he's already had his daily session. Maybe Johnson will have him bunt. That might be the answer! That and the slump buster tried-and-true method. I'm all for a BEAR welcome-to-the regionals party tonight. Let it happen.
