Granted I’m only following along loosely but I’m really struggling to understand the risk versus reward here. How does signing average players off of an NFL practice squad benefit your team long term? CFB is already a shite show without opening up a new front to the chaos that the NCAA and conferences already cant seem to get a handle on. Is there a reward to alienating your entire conference and doing permanent damage to relationships throughout the league that I’m unaware of??

Federal Court > LSU Judge
I expect federal Court to make a ruling quickly. It would be bold to play the guys this weekend.
Yes, it will, on the motion to dismiss that will be forthcoming from LSU and Kiffin's lawyers. It will probably be filed early next week if not tomorrow.

"Must comply......" Is this one of the allegations in the Federal suit? As I have said, I have not read the entire Fed. suit. But the highlighted parts of the suit, as stated in the media, is that LSU/ Kiffen/ BOS/ etc colluded to contact players to join the State suit

What is most funny is all these gumps thinking there are not federal courts and judges in Louisiana. Lol
I am going to guess someone with LSU law background is a high federal judge somewhere. No way we could ever think to shop a judge like Stanky did in Alabama, he is just to clever for us... Please continue...

Exactly.
It’s insane to me that they’re continuing to push this when this is the end game and has been since the Sorseby case was done earlier this year
What's insane is that it took this long for sankey to file a lawsuit

It's a jurisdictional issue. I don't believe the federal court in Alabama has jurisdiction over LSU or Kffin. It should be a slam dunk. If Sankey wants to refile the suit in federal court in Louisiana then be our guest. But the thing to remember about federal judges is that they are appointed. They don't have to worry about reelection.

In the end sec will win in federal court that all members must comply with bylaws of conference. Precedent set in Big 12 ruling. Federal courts override state court decision and SEC will have grounds to penalize LSU for not following those rules. In the end that’s what will happen.
Sure, use this as the next thing to cling on to

Genuine question: how big of an impact are these players for LSU?

If LSU doesn't add them to the roster, they open the NCAA, the SEC, and LSU to litigation for damages by the players. It would be a winnable case of collusion and would cost the SEC and all the schools lots of money.

Good depth. I don’t think any of them would be starting even if they came over in January though.

Wright is the most productive returning tight end in all of college football. He and Harris (don’t know anything about Medicals, conditioning) are legitimate ceiling raisers.

Why do you people keep saying that the federal courts sided with the Big 12? The Big12 filed a lawsuit on Sunday and Sorsby backed down on Monday. However, no hearing was ever held and no federal court ruling was ever issued.

The Saints paid Wright $190 for gas to show up. Professional sports player is set for life with that NFL money. The ignorance on these boards is mind boggling. 20,000 lawyer comedians posting law shite they no nothing about.

Actually they all add in areas of need, especially for depth.
Wright is a good receiver/ blocker. This allows Tredez Green to play in the slot.
The DT positions needed depth. Harris may start when healthy.
The DE from Notre Dame is a run stopper. We were heavy on pass rushers, but needed run stopping depth.
A CB was needed for depth. An injury created the need.
