re: Bert Jones’ Jersey #7 to be retired.

No player is going to ask for 9 because they seem to know better
You don’t know this, but I would think that without promises to the contrary, that LSU would not issue the numbers out of respect. When he was promised during his recruitment, Daniel’s had not won the Heisman. So, it was a perfect storm of timing. The debris for this is just washing ashore now.

Thanks for posting that interview.
God first, great family, talent, and hard work = Peyton Houston.
I needed something positive this morning.

He’s preparing for a football season and he was not here to understand the history of LSU and its numbers. Lane is preparing for a football season, why would he fully know how the number system works. This a big nothing burger
Lane is certainly smart enough to know the significance of the number. But, he is honoring a promise made to a player by the previous staff. I’m sure he had the necessary information to feel like it was the right thing to do.

Do what Florida did. Give it to a punter.
Eliminate the 18 and 7.
Let’s just play football.

But if LSU retires all its Heisman
Not true.
quote:
you're Pickett why even ask
Because he wanted it, was promised it, and no LSU policy against it.
quote:
Have some respect for the guys who have gone before you and cemented their names in history. Pickett is still a nobody at this point in his career.
Asking for your favorite number, within school policy, is not disrespect. And your “nobody”, comment would fail in giving ANY freshman a number.

He asked for the number before Jayden won his Heisman and was promised it. That's the number he wore on his recruiting visits, the same season Jayden was playing
Facts matter.

Let’s be as ready as we can be for the back end of the schedule.

I hated him for it, but the year before, he drove the Weebles down the field to give us our only loss that year.
That was the year that we were expected to go to the Cotton Bowl, but got bumped by the selection committee in favor of Notre Dame, who voluntarily had not played in a bowl game since 1924.
Players voted to not accept any other bowl invites. In those days, the big 4 bowls of Sugar, Orange, Rose, and Cotton were the top bowls.
I’ve hated ND ever since.

Agree. Better coaching and maturing another year under a better training staff, should produce some improvements. I’m hoping for his best.

Yes it is. Stay alert, and maintain space. Simple defensive cover up if approached would help. Sad that this is a thing to have to worry about.
I wish a vigilant woman in a risky environment, would wear some brass knuckles and make the news by making a soup sipper out of one.

re: Trump: Iran must pay reparations!!!!
Posted by Good Times on 8/10/26 at 12:56 pm to gumbeaux
Just a few achievements:
Stopped Iran’s enrichments. Will eventually get the material.
Created a coalition of neighboring ME counties.
Started alternate oil transporting routes, which will remove Iran’s ability to affect the world economy.
Removed Irans ability to finance the weaponization of proxy groups for terrorist activities.
Showed Iran as a Paper Tiger militarily. Which also showed the world how weak the Russian and Chinese defense equipment is as it relates to the USA.
Sowed the seeds for regime change once the general population has had enough. The slaughter of civilians will come back to haunt the leaders.
The leaders are WELL aware that their power is tenuous and subject to immediate termination.
The economics of Iran in free fall. Every day that passes, only makes it worse. This fact has tempered the military strikes, that would hurt the general population.
The snap your fingers crowd will have to be patient. Trump is more concerned with the stability of the world, than mid term polls. :usa:
