I’d say in modern NFL with rule changes favoring offense WR is more valuable. It’s probably why elite WR’s are paid more.

That said, CB’s may be better all around athletes. It’s probably the most physically challenging position on the field.

don't think this is true
Imagine having three years of Anderson, Geralds, Lamar upfront

He’s a perimeter marksman and at 6’7” has good height for that spot. Good add.

No question

And can play really good defense

Based on everything I've seen/read, I don't think Bashir plays really good defense
Hence the word rarely.

My point was, he had a few seasons in the NBA where his 3pt % was higher than his FG %

Not sure I’ve ever seen a player shoot a higher percentage on 3PA vs 2PA lol

39% 3pt
36% 2pt

Look closely and you'll see he's done it three straight seasons

It happens (albeit rarely) with players who are designated snipers. Kyle Korver for example.

"If shots don't go in and he has a high turnover game, it's gonna produce that"

Uhh ya

Everybody did just fine when there were just rec leagues and that’s where the MLB talent came from

There's also less kids playing sports is my understanding, hence the need for travel leagues.

Oh stop with the hyperbole. Eason was completely under the radar and a huge credit to Wade’s attention to detail.

Edit: it’s hard to know in retrospect how he was viewed nationally as the transfer portal rankings weren’t as developed. It looks like at the time, it least on here he was known as a great rebounder and defensive player with length and athleticism. Good steal and block numbers in limited minutes. 1st team all freshman.

Thank you. I doubt people were dancing in the streets when Wade found Tari Eason averaging 7 points a game at Cincinnati.

People were thrilled when we got Eason
Jay can’t compete with the MLB contracts for 16 year olds. The volume of players isn’t there like it is with basketball in other leagues after the MLB signs who they want.

And I said generation intentionally, but Curry, individually, has done a whole lot in the development of the NBA.

I just don't know how much Steph Curry alone has changed the value of the NBA as a whole.

Growing TV contracts due to the way we consume content has more to do with it than the players themselves growing it organically due to fan interest.

Solely crediting curry for the entire rise of golden state’s valuation is misleading.

The Pelicans are worth about 10x now vs. what benson paid for them. Is this due to all of their success and championships ?

Pistons sold for 311 mllion in 2011, now worth ~4 billion. In comparison, Warriors sold for 450 million in 2010 and are now worth 11 billion. Then, have to consider the value of owning the Chase Center and being in San Francisco; that said, it's clear that quality of play on the court does impact value some, and it being by superstar players, some more. Even so, IF the NBA by chance allowed an exceedingly small amount of players to get equity, I don't think it'd be as much as Steph maybe thinks, and at that point he may prefer just to get rid of the salary cap :dunno:

But this generation "Grew" the league a lot more than those in the past.

Did this generation of players grow the league? Or did they grow WITH the league? That's the question. Michael Jordan's Bulls in the late 90s were worth ~200 million. Now they're worth ~6 Billion. How much would Steph Curry's impact alone increase the value of an NBA franchise? And how long lasting is their impact?

I do agree that having max salaries for players makes elite players get paid less, not sure how controversial that is but it shouldn't be. Steph is definitely part of that list. What I'm sure of is how much of the Warrior's value is directly attributable to Steph.

NBA stars are underpaid

Yes, salary caps do this to elite players. He's not wrong.

League minimums do the opposite, which accounts for a much larger number of players.
He'll get in easily.

By JAWS metric he's an average hall of famer at 1st base. That plus his broad appeal personally? Done deal

One other alternate interpretation I've considered...in the "funny guy" scene, is it possible Tommy was legitimately offended/pissed off at first? We already know "spit shine tommy" has a crazy fragile ego and impulse control disorder. And when he had Henry clearly crapping his pants maybe THEN he knew he had the upper hand over him again and only then decided to let up? Or is it more likely he was just messing with him the whole time?
