Oh look, it's already been done. Nothing to be proud of.

To beat Bama with that kind of O you have to score easy and often. Problem is as the game progresses that will head the opposite direction so IF Louisville scores early it will look good early but in the end they will get *ss pounded (especially in the 2nd half) unless Saban pulls the first string.
Cards could be up 2 or 3 TD's by half but get beat by 3 or 4 TD's by games end.

There is definitely some trap game potential here due to a lot of factors:
1. Petrino is a playcalling genius with the passing game and Bama returns virtually no experience in the secondary. Louisville will come out with nothing to lose and won't be afraid to go for the big play.
2. After 3 seasons in a row of playing highly ranked teams in openers, this is the first time no one is hyped about Bama's kickoff game. Coming off a title, it would be easy for Bama to let its guard down. Saban's yelling can only go so far. The stadium energy will be bland as hell.
3. On offense Bama is either starting Jalen Hurts or a first time starter who sat out all of spring. Neither is ideal if Petrino can air raid our young secondary and we have to keep up in a shootout.
4. Bama has brand new coordinators on offense and defense. A LOT of kinks will have to be worked out as the first game progresses. Expect multiple missed calls, assignments, communication errors, etc. We can't discount how much Smart and Pruitt meant to the defense. Lupoi is calling his first game ever.
Bama wins but I don't think it will be over until midway through the 4th.

Bama only has 3 starters returning, not sure last time they've had that few, anyone know?
Secondary is very green for a Petrino offense, they will move the ball.
Bama will win, but I'll bet Louisville +26

Tennessee Tech,
Miami (which finished 6-7),

Bobby Petrino on Alabama: 'I believe we’re gonna go beat ’em'
When you're a 25.5-point favorite in the opener coming off your fifth national championship in nine years, any sliver of bulletin board material is vital for Alabama coach Nick Saban, who has a gargantuan target on his back as the likely preseason No. 1 this season.
And let's just say Bobby Petrino delivered. In his closing remarks Friday at a University of Louisville luncheon, Louisville's head coach offered up this response when asked to comment on his team's first game Sept. 1 in Orlando.
“I believe we’re gonna go beat ’em. And we will go beat ’em,” Petrino said, according to ESPN Louisville program director Jason Anderson.
This isn't too far from Petrino's words earlier this summer at ACC Media Days when he said the Cardinals are confident in their abilities as a team.
“But the number one thing we have to do is believe that we can go down there and beat them so that when you truly believe in something, then you go out and play your best, play to your best of your ability, and that’s what’s important for us,” Petrino said. “If there’s any disbelief at all, usually you underachieve, and that’s the main thing we can’t do. We need to go play our best game to give us an opportunity to win.”
Louisville wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick believes his team is actually more talented than Alabama when it comes to the Cardinals' pass-catchers vs. the Crimson Tide's secondary.
“Every receiver in our receiving corps can honestly beat every one of their DBs in one-on-one coverage, so it ties into the other stuff,” Fitzpatrick said, via CBS Louisville reporter Dan Koob. “If the blocks are right, if the quarterback’s drop is right, if we ran a 10-yard route instead of an eight-yard route, that’s the kind of stuff I feel like we need to sharpen up, but I feel like just straight talent wise, I feel like we have the upper edge against the secondary, 1000 percent.”
Give Louisville credit — for a team replacing former Heisman winner Lamar Jackson at quarterback, the Cardinals are awfully confident going into the opener in two weeks.
Fitzpatrick went on to say that based on what he’s seen from watching film, previous opponents have seemed to make an abnormal number of self-inflicted errors when playing against the Crimson Tide, which is something he believes the Cardinals can avoid if they just treat it like a regular game.
“When we watch film and other players play Bama, it’s not like Bama’s beating them, it’s like they’re beating themselves, like dropped balls that people usually don’t drop,” he said. “If we don’t play nervous, if we play like we’re playing a regular team, like we’re playing Kentucky – obviously we’re not playing Kentucky – but if we just have that mindset that we’re just playing football, at the end of the day it’s football, we’ve been doing this since we were seven years old. So if we just think like that, they’re just human just like us.”

I’d take Louisville and the points. Expect Bama to win but not by 25.

Petrinos is a good offensive coach and our secondary is very green.
I think the game will be closer than most are predicting.

Sorry TT forgot about my promise to you. Here is what I learned.
year old article so he is 11-0 with last year's win onver FSU, and 22 seasons now, of course
Here is the article I found

In 21 previous seasons as a college head coach, Saban has lost only three season-opening games – two at Michigan State and one at LSU. At Alabama, specifically, he’s a perfect 10-0.
