Bobby Petrino has only lost one season-opening game in his career as a Head Coach...

That was to Auburn in 2015.

He is 13-1 in season opening games.

Will he have any magic to overcome such a huge talent gap between Louisville and Alabama?

He only lost one bitch off his motorcycle too, but we all know it's probably gonna happen again.

I sure doubt it, but he did author the best recent firing in all of college football.

So there's that...

Bobby has never beaten Saban and won't do this time either. This UL team isn't even Arkansas 2010 level and Bama is likely stronger than 2010 too.

I'm sure Louisville will put up some points, as Petrino is wont to do, but there's a good reason that the line is where it is. I expect something like 20-14 in the first half and 41-24 as the final.

I would be shocked if Louisville managed to score 2 touchdowns.

They might score 10 points.

Our secondary is talented, but extremely green. There will be some frickups, and Petrino is the kind of guy that will be able to exploit that.

Saban is 11-0 in openers as Bama's head coach.

What’s his career record in season openers?

I think this ends up being a 40ish-10ish game in favor of Alabama.

Don't know and too tired and sleepy to look it up right now. I am thinking Louisville will score a little more than that but 40 sounds right for Bama. I will return to this thread in the morning and maybe somebody will have provided us with this stat, if not I will find it then.

I will honestly be surprised if Louisville scores a TD on this Bama defense without Lamar Jackson. This is gonna be another Bama-USC opener - 52-6. Louisville kicks late field goals.
