And the athletes are equally worthless in college without the platforms and exposure from big time schools.Along the development and training they get from those schools

You think anyone pays attention to em at DII or a HBCU?

You’ve been paying players illegally for years. Now that others are able to do it legally and have leveled the playing field, you want it to stop.

Thank you for adding nothing other than parroting the poster that I responded to. You managed to add absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Although you did manage to unintentionally make a great point for me.....

The athletes and programs are mutually beneficial. And because of that....they both should be able to profit from each other.

Thanks for that.

Mizzou never had more than 2 recruits who were either one 5* and one 4* or two 4* recruits in a recruiting class. There could be one with 3 in one class but no two 5* in a class. This is the first time Mizzou recruited seven 4* recruits and one 5* in a class. This is a huge jump from any previous recruiting classes.

And?Let's hear about the deals

You got nothing.

I always like it when people talk about what money other people shouldn't be allowed to earn, for doing a job they themselves could never perform, but insist somebody do for them all the same.

In other words - you want your college football, and you want it performed for you at the pay scale you insist on, even though not one thin dime is coming out of your pocket.

You do know it's against NIL rules to use a NIL deal to sign a athlete, correct?

Emmert suggested there are schools under investigation. He said the NCAA is investigating “a number” of schools for potential NIL violations.

But you need a cap on NIL to keep the league competitive, otherwise it will be controlled by one or two teams. NFL has a cap, so does the NBA. Put a cap on it.

To make a comparison, would you play in a Fantasy Football league where 3 or 4 of the people in the league basically had unlimited funds to buy their team. Everybody else has limits. Would you play in that league?

I realize there are imbalances previously, but things have gotten crazy. These "student athletes" have gone from getting a Dodge Charger and a duffle bag with 50K to getting millions in a NIL package. This is no longer about getting an education. It is now just minor league football.

That is just one player! That recruiting class only had one 5*, one 4*, some 3* and few 2* recruits. There are more 4* and 5* players in this recruiting class. Mizzou last 6 or so recruiting classes combined doesn't have that many 4* and 5* players on the team that were recruited out of HS.

But you had Gary Pinkle. How that guy was able to walk away from the program without a fight is criminal.

It was a supreme court ruling that lead to NIL, then state laws, NCAA had nothing to do with it

Yes. Free education and state-of-the-art training facilities and access to dedicated teams of trainers, nutritionists, and doctors while you audition for the NFL and get the type of name recognition most other people cannot obtain if you happen to end up pursuing a career somewhere other than the NFL. More than enough.

Apparently it wasn't enough. If it was, no one would get getting NIL deals now.
