I bet it isn't $20 million worth of give a frick dirty laundry for a 64 year old man.
And, that is the essence of blackmail.
Just pay the dude and move on. Would be even better if they pulled back the firing. Make him work or quit.

So if this ends in a civil suit, is there a court in the state of Louisiana that won’t rule in favor of LSU over Brian Kelly? LSU has no case, but there’s almost no scenario where he gets a fair trial
LSU never Loses. That must be the LSU way.

The LSU job just keeps getting more and more attractive to potential coaches.

So is the buyout being negotiated or not? Your answers differ. You seem confused
No difference at all

Yeah, lots of people are saying otherwise. Scott Woodward attempted to use a vague “morals clause’ to force BK to settle for less. Man up, pay what you agreed to. Or are you gonna welch on your agreement like you did with the Aggie series? Right now LSU has a serious image problem. You dont keep your agreements, you rob children’s hospitals, you have covered up multiple sexual assault issues, kept as AD and HC that were involved, et al. Brian Kelly may not have been a great coach, but he ran a clean, scandal free program at LSU. Pay the money dipshits, move on.

This is what LSU deserves for hiring a Massachusetts Democrat who worked for Walter Mondale

In my experience on this board, those are kinds of threads that have the real info in them.
I could see that. Why should the board owner expose himself to that kind of problem.

They don’t. This is just some dumbshit “article” making a lot out of LSU making settlement offers and BK refusing them.

I can tell lots of posters in here that are posting during the middle of a work day are very experienced with contracts and buyouts

Guy seems like a prick but good for him. Might should have settle that before firing him

Yeah. No agent has ever thought of that possibility and addressed it in the contract.

Trying to fleece the outgoing HC isn't a good look.

Do you actually believe everything you read on the internet or is your hatred for LSU really that deep. There's nothing you stated thats true & it's quite comical

We’re not dealing with Jeffrey Epstein-type stuff here. I doubt BK really cares.
Just pay the stupid Yankee the full amount right now and move on. It’s not worth the effort to drag it out.
… unless you’re too poor and can’t.

Kelly should no way in heck take anything less than what he is owed. And this coming from an LSU fan who recognized long time ago Kelly wasn't putting in the work.

The majority of you must be terrible with business matters.
Why the heck would you "just pay him the full amount" when a negotiated lump sum is the best solution for both parties?

Does the LSU legal team come here for advice?

It most certainly does. The entire amount must be paid in equal installments and fully paid by the end of the contract, which is 2031.
The contract has been posted numerous times. You’re still paying him because the contract says you have to keep paying him. You’ll also keep paying him if he finds a new job. The only difference is you’ll reduce the check by ever how much he makes in that job. It also doesn’t have to be a head coaching job or even a coaching job at all. He could sign on with a network doing Saturday games making few hundred thousand and LSU would pay the rest.
no shite it says it must be paid by the end of the contract in 2031. I was talking about, there is no stipulation that the remainder of the contract is due in say...90 days or 180 days like some have
nobody said he had to take a job or even a high paying job, hell he could take a HC job and work for a dollar. I didnt say anything different.
Dont assume others are dumbasses just because 75% of this board and 85% of the rant are dumbasses.

Dear LSU,
Thank you for making us not look like the bad guys, or the biggest dumbass.
