Would I go 400K in debt to send my kid to Rice? No. I would for Stanford/Harvard/MIT/Yale/Princeton. If you have planned for this and/or you can cash flow the payments, it will be the best money you have ever spent. It is upsetting to many people, but your kid will have opportunities that won't be available to others. My youngest son graduated from a US News top 5 university last May. In a funky job market with most recent grads struggling to find anything related to their major, he is making a strong 6-figure base salary in a job he loves. There is no doubt where he got his degree played a huge part in this. I never felt better than when I made those tuition payments.

Can we just stop and appreciate how great of a dad this guy would be. Honestly.

You should learn how to put spaces in between thoughts though. But otherwise, good points.

But then again, I graduated from an elite school (thanks financial aid), make 6 figures and still post on TD (geaux tigers) so don’t listen to me.

Thread was similar last year, might be a little busier now. It was 300+ pages by the end of the season. Last season had less pages than the season before mainly attributed to the bottom sticky.

I think it’s this new generation that relies on automatics. I’m still young 30s if that means much. Anyone who drives a manual knows what engine braking is, especially through corners. Lots of energy potential there. Maybe the batteries get good enough where you don’t have to accelerate revs to generate energy to keep a power unit going.

Waiting for a real engineer to take the bait and tell us what’s really going on. Go ahead.
I just don’t understand why he doesn’t have a professional driver at this point.

I mean, does he cut his own lawn too?

Serious question, and this may change for me as we get outside of far East Asian and Australian schedules, but I wasn’t aware of this thread last year.

But considering the new regs, was the same thread last year more or less active than this year? Max is a child for how he handled that interview, but man, coasting 50 km/h less in a corner for harvesting just kills the sport for me too.

When were they not? I blame unions and protectionism (like the bailout under Obama). They deserve to go extinct (come at me TD).

My wife has an MDX. The infotainment system is 10 years behind, and the paint started flaking away. It hasn’t been a bad car, but I probably wouldn’t buy another one

Who cares and stop being a bitch, along with your wife. It’s all about the driving experience. If it were me, I’d get rid of all the infotainment shite and require a manual.

I own an Acura ITS (the more grown up civic type r) and I actually look forward to driving into work.

True, Duke, Rice, Emory, UVA, UNC, and Vandy are the elites in the south for academics. Very impressive for Emory to be so prestigious without a football program, Johns Hopkins too.

When you think about it, Alabama’s academic reputation skyrocketed for what it is after the Saban years. Vandy has literally taken advantage of it without any contributing revenue share.

I feel like without the SEC, Vandy would be more like Tulane in terms of reputation. Not many in academic circles really respects it. It just gets such high acceptance rate yields (and higher in us news rankings) because of football and being in a nice city like Nashville.

I may need to ask this question on Reddit for better responses.

Or poor because if they are accepted, and their family earns less than $75,000, their tuition is covered.

True, schools like Duke and Emory give you a full ride, room and board, if your income is less than 100k. And that was just 10 years ago, so the limit is probably a lot higher now with inflation.

It's the finest institution of higher learning within the entire South, in my biased opinion.
Definitely better than Vandy. If only Rice was in the SEC they’d have better acceptance rate yields and rank higher.
Definitely not guilty and her eyes are piercing, literally. It’s like she can see my soul.

The Acura Integra Type S is nice. Only comes in a manual though.

Netflix has gone way downhill since the Hulu/Disney/ESPN super merger, What a great reason to finally cancel this shite.

My final straw was watching some random movie called Sisu. It said my plan wasn’t good enough to watch.

I can afford it. Time to run their nose in the shite they created.

No doubt we are great at blowing stuff up. But how are we going to win this conflict again?
You could even say the greatest at blowing things up.

Watched them a long time ago, when the Ukraine war started. They were pretty bad then. They may have improved since then, but I quit watching long ago. I don't remember the UAB part. I thought they dropped out of AUM. One of them ran for city council in Wetumpka and lost.

What sauces do you prefer these days?

Anyone listen to The Enforcer on YT?

Posted by VooDude on 3/26/26 at 9:08 pm
Started listening to them a few months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine every now and then. Very entertaining. Impressive coverage.

But started to listen in more after the Strait of Hormuz crisis. These lads are impressive for 24 year olds that dropped out of law school because everyone else agreed apparently/are presumably balling now.

Apparently they went to UAB/the school with a dragon logo. Is that where the intellectuals go to in Alabama these days?
Sick of having subscriptions to 4-5 providers and still missing out on all the goods. Anyone here have the high seas equivalent these days?

Serious question, getting older: besides a vpn, what else do you need to stay protected?

Britain couldn’t take back the Falklands back in the 80’s either. The US supported Britain. That’s how they did it.
Yup, enough to make anyone leave an island under US economic pressure. Britain got to do their ceremonial bombing, just like with their ceremonial changing of the guard. It’s all just a facade.

The last thing that made them useful to the US was their influence in the EU and well…

Both Britain and Germany lost that war.

Saudi and UAE both have air forces larger than Britain's
Britain couldn’t even take back the Falklands anymore. I want Argentina to do it again and rub their nose in it. Britain has nothing. Not even economic might to squeeze them anymore.
Turns out being smarter than anyone on TD doesn’t mean much if everyone is a dumbass with an lsu degree. Hell I even look down on Tulane.

Geaux tigers no matter what. Still loyal to the end as long as y’all aren’t decision makers.

Before you know it Trump’s going to send in ground troops. I still support the war. It needed to be done sooner than later and not kick the can down the road. Wish we had done this with the USSR before they developed nukes and spread them to China. But it’s all very hard to watch with the sacrificial economic pressure. Living in between the pandemic and now this is brutal with inflation. I feel so poor despite having a good salary on paper.

So how do you feel about the paratroopers and marine landings now, dumbass.

In hindsight, I was still wrong. Trump’s just looking to cut a deal and punt the issue to the next generation. Goes to show that protests don’t mean much if your population isn’t armed.
