What are they?

UK vs UT jumps out. Bama vs AU has some sizzle now that both teams have good coaches and both programs are on the rise. Who else?

State and the Tide have a pretty good rivalry, though it's not quite what it used to be during the Stansbury/Gottfried days.

I once again have to remind everyone of my hatred of Mississippi State

who are bad and lowdown and I'm glad when they lose

These were good… Mario Austin gave it a little pop back in the day.

Miss St/Alabama of the 2000s was the biggest Alabama basketball rivalry of my life. Those teams and programs recruited all the same kids in the corridor from Jackson to Birmingham, both of them were good and battled at the top of the West/SEC, we were close, the fanbases hated the other team, we had great games. It was awesome.

Alabama/Auburn is a rivalry because we are rivals as schools, but even now with both of us being pretty good it isn't full of piss and vinegar (I think both Oats and Pearl actually are pretty similar and respect each other). It's fun that we are both good and the games are fun, but it isn't really hateful.

Arkansas/Kentucky in the 90s was fantastic. Kentucky/Tennessee ever since Pearl got to Tennessee has been great. The Florida/Kentucky games when Donovan was at Florida were always must see.

Aside from all the ones already mentioned, wasn't Missouri and Arkansas a big game at some point?

Obviously not so much as their beef with Kansas, but I think it was still a thing.

Auburn vs Tennessee has been the best since Pearl came to Auburn, especially the last 6-7 seasons

Auburn/Tennessee has been really good, that's a good one.

Arkansas/Auburn has gotten pretty spicy the last few years.

LSU/Alabama was on a path to being really good until Wade got canned.

State and Bama on the hard court is the most physical rivalry in the SEC. Every game ,every year it is a war. The game on December 28th was no different. Alabama was whistled for 25 fouls (of course State could not hit the side of the barn door from the free throw line) and probably committed another half dozen that were not called.
The game in Tuscaloosa upcoming will the same.
So without a doubt it is the toughest, roughest most physical rivalry in the SEC. But clean as well. Nobody plays dirty but it is not for the faint of heart. Coach Jans alluded to that fact after that game that he was not expecting the physicality of the game to be what it was.

And yes the Stans/Gottfried years were awesome.

Yep - even in years when both programs waned and Stans and Gottfried were starting to fray, those games were still absolute wars. And it has continued ever sense.

We tried to tell them that he couldn't keep getting away with it.

As a kid, Nolan’s Arkansas teams coming to town were big games…. Def not a rivalry, but you could feel it in BEMC.

Tennessee/Vandy would be excellent if Vandy could hold up their end of the rivalry and beat us every now and then.

Yep - in the 1990s, Arkansas and Kentucky coming to town was an entirely different vibe than anybody else.

It was still like that with Kentucky when I was in school in the early/mid 2000s, and those weren't national title contending UK teams. Didn't matter, still Kentucky.

Tennessee/Vandy and Tennessee/Memphis during the Pearl era was always really good - especially when Tennessee went to Memorial.

Hell, so was Kentucky/Vandy.

I think that's true for Tennessee vs Vandy & Tennessee vs Florida.

Both series have been surprisingly a lot more one sided in favor of UT since Barnes took over.

Admittedly, "40 Minutes of Hell" is still some of my favorite college basketball, ever.

Loved watching those teams.
