3 National Championships in that time frame, 5 Sec championships, but sure lets call the last one a one hit wonder

Great point +1 for you but Bama likes to jerk off to that kind of talk

Where is Missouri? I guess it isn't like Missouri will never get to be good again. That is not the case here. Missouri was up and down. But with Drinkwitz it should be a regular bowl team with some 10 win seasons.

That's really a bizarre label, and I wouldn't say LSU fits the "one hit wonder" theme. They finished 2018 ranked #6, and STARTED 2019 at #6. It's not like they were predicted to go 7-6 that year.

I mean, Miss State 2014, Kentucky 2018... THOSE are one-hit wonders. Consistently, numbingly average programs, with a weird 10 win season out of nowhere.

If you want to put LSU in a "unforeseen disaster" grouping, I can get that. 2020 for LSU, Ohio State 2011 (they went 6-7), etc.

I think they are saying, that's it for Eddie O.

Yeah- they are trolling the coaches of said teams without just outright slinging the names Sumlin, chizik, O etc.

One hit wonder for Auburn may be a bit of a stretch. They went to another BCS National Championship three years later.

The criteria used fits Auburn. The year before they were above average, then sensational and then back to above average. It doesn't account for the entire time frame, just the 3 year window.

That pretty much describes what happens at Bama each year but you don't see 5 and 5's.

Just own it Skippy and move on to 2021.

Your Coach, Team, and Administration couldn't handle success back to back because you have never done it!!!

and it is documented for you.

Alabama has never lost 17/22 starters, 40 players overall, and multiple coordinators during one year.

Especially not a year with no offseason.

Why do Gumps feel the need to lie?

2019 has a STRONG argument for GOAT, but let's stop pretending that 2020 doesn't have an equally GOAT title defense collapse feel to it.

I'd challenge you to find an LSU fan that disagrees.

I count no less than 3 teams in that graphic that LSU ended or halted their “one hit wonder” season or started their following season with a loss

Illinois 2001 sugar bowl
Texas A&M 2012
Miami 2018 1st game of season

Saban has never had to do it without a spring or fall camp. While replacing DC and trying to install a completely new defense. With no spring or fall. Limited practices and no time for a practically “brand new” team to come together and gel... oh and not to mention; lose his starting Qb in just the 3rd game. Have his no. 1 reciever opt out. Saban has never faced those same challenges and obstacles. No coach has ever faced anything even remotely similar.

And Saban has consecutive number 1 classes to help out.

Better to have been a one hit wonder, then no wonder at all.

Amirite Ole Miss, MSU, A&M, Vandy, Arky, Mizzou, Ky, USCE, Uga, Tenn?

LSU has 3 National titles and more SEC titles and top-5 finishes

Miami also has a National title in 01

BU was a top-10 team with RG3

The rest seem legit. . .with LSU clearly being the least deserving of this list.

How is Texas not on the list?

Or Oregon?

Or FSU?

It's considered a one hit wonder because of the offensive dominance LSU displayed in 2019. Not to mention we lost about 95% of the players and coaches that made that season happen, so of course we would see drop of in 2020.

We have to prove that 2019 wasn't a one hit wonder.

I am not sure how you call LSU a one hit wonder with multiple championships within this century?

2nd most National championships in that period.
This is just stupid to have LSU on that list. It’s laughable
