Actually I'm not.

How can someone say LSU was in "decline" before 2019 when they'd just won 10 games for the first time in several years as well as a NY6 bowl?

It's an illogical argument.

It was a covid year. They played more conference games. Teams got more losses than usual because they didn’t have OOC to boost the title.

Facing the same schedule, Bama went undefeated. Bama was GOAT or LUS was the biggest dropoff in the history of the sport and brought shame to themselves. Which is it?

All this LSU jealous by a fan base that supposedly has a dynasty team.

So you're willing to say here and now that you were 100% in favor of the direction of the program at the end of November 2018, being ranked as high as #3 and then dropping two of your last four? I'm also sure that 40-32 win over a G5 team (missing its star QB mind you) in the Fiesta Bowl was thrilling in the moment.

That's easy. 2006 Rutgers. We can put 2007 Hawaii in that same category.

Notre Dame has been more consistent since 2012 than Texas A&M. The Irish have had five seasons of 10 wins or more since then compared to Texas A&M's zero. They've also made it twice to the College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame hasn't won a major bowl since the 1993-1994 season.

Everyone knew the offense had to get better but I don't recall anyone at all saying that LSU was "declining" at that time.

Interesting how you note that they didn't have their quarterback but you leave out where LSU was missing 9 starters or whatever

There's plenty to shite on LSU about, at least make it reasonable though.

I think he just needs some attention.

He made a series of false statements here awhile back which I debunked and he has never recovered.

Looking at that list makes me think whoever made that together has no idea what a one hit wonder is.

Then 247 is obviously as retarded as you are if you can’t understand that a team that has won 3 National Championships and played for another in the time span listed can’t obviously be a one hit wonder.

I don't necessarily disagree with that take; but if you read the article, it is clear they are talking about anomaly seasons that had mediocre to poor preceding seasons, a huge jump toward success, immediately followed by garbage.

That is how they seemed to generally define the one hit wonders (bad term). More like roller coaster rides in short periods, not necessarily looking at the program as a whole over the 20 yrs.

Yes, LSU won 2 and played for 3 NCs between 2000-2011, but the 9 years after have been 3+ loss years on the regular outside of 15-0.

It is a bad take, but a fair point of discussion as an anomaly year on the whole over last 10 seasons.

Since 2000, LSU is 2nd only to Bama on top end success (with Clemson close). But, if ranked for overall consistency as a program, they aren't #2.

They are not necessarily the up and down extremes of AU football, but it has been some highs followed by some what's? And whys?.

That 2019 LSU one hit wonder has to be the #1 out of all one hit wonders on the list.
