well, it's an objective fact that they didn't beat anyone in 2024 that finished in the top 10. The only halfway decent team they beat that season won single-digit games and lost 4 times. Their next best win was barely .500.

If you do a points system, awarding a team 25 points for beating the #1 team, 24 points for beating the #2 team... sliding all the way down to 1 point for beating the #1 team, this is how it shakes out over the past 20 seasons:

The numbers that jump out to me are Auburn and Florida's low totals vs non-conference. Tennessee has more in that timeframe, and they weren't good for much of that. Even Missouri has more. I assume those are bowls included, I'd have guessed they would have won more OOC big game matchups. I guess they really didn't play anyone in the regular season, outside of conference games.

I’m going to get roasted for this but whatever - One has to wonder how many of these ranked wins come from Sec teams just beating down other over-ranked Sec teams at the beginning of the season? The pollsters always seem to stick the a certain number of teams in there that have no realistic reason for being there (Au, FL the past few years as example)

What’s more surprising is, not gonna take the time to look, that most of ours probably came in that short 6 years between 2006 and 2012. If we hadn’t fallen of a cliff the last 15 years or so, we’d probably have more.
