This is off-topic but I have a hard time figuring out how the 2018 LSU offense wasn't significantly better.

We know Jefferson is an absolute God
Safe bet Chase is too

So either:
A) The coaching staff couldn't get a Ferrari out of 1st gear
B) Burrow improved just about more than anybody ever has
C) Burrow really isn't that good and having 2 transcendent WR's carried him

I'm going to go with A

I like the 2019 LSU group way better than bama 2020. I don’t think that’s up for debate.

You could argue that Smith wouldn’t have went first round last year before his big season, but there isn’t a scenario in which Waddle doesn’t go first round. He’s electric.

According to them, when talking pro potential Mac was gifted the greatest weapons of all time therefore he’s not good like Burrow. But then in these comparisons, they pick LSU as having the better WRs.

Psst... they are not mutually exclusive. Joe was the number one pick, the Heisman trophy winner, and was having a successful rookie season before getting hurt. Mac will not even come close to sniffing the number one pick. Regarding his NFL career, we’ll see. It’s safe to say Joe’s will be better.

Jamarr is universally regarded as a better prospect than Davonte, the best wr ever at your school. Justin Jefferson made the pro bowl as a rookie.... I could go on...

Bama’s 2020 Corp was good, and they made Mac look a lot better than he actually was, but they were not anywhere close to reaching the stratosphere of 2019 LSU.

4 first-round draft picks. End of discussion.

Name the 2019 bama 4 first round reciever picks that were drafted. Bet you can't.

Bet Dereck Stingley can.

Did I ask Stingley? Typical bama shite... can't answer the question.

But maybe I should ask bama DBs about the 2019 LSU receivers. Pretty sure they got smoked.

He is saying 2019 LSU's WR corps is so much better than 2020 Alabama's that one can't argue the two.

I mean, you can argue that 2+2 equals 5 if you want. Just don't be surprised when people laugh at your pathetic arse.

The last time I saw Stingley, he was faceplanted and just laying there like roadkill, so he may not be talking.

The last thing I recall the Heisman winner, Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Biletnikoff winner was blowing by Stingley for a little north of 200 yards in the FIRST HALF. Some crazy cajun was throwing his headset all over the place and cussing up a storm. Pretty sure he was discussing someone's ancestry on the defense. So I'm not sure he wants to talk about it either.

Bama’s got smoked when the game was on the line, and not in garbage minutes, after it was already decided.

well F me then b/c i disagree. I don't remember LSU playing 10 SEC games. They played 15 games. Bama played 13. LSU's 15 included Georgia Southern, NW St, and Utah State. Come on man.

LSU hired this guy in early 2019 to implement new offensive philosophy

not hard to understand really.

2020 Bama played 5 teams with winning records I believe. LSU beat 5 top 10 teams and 7 teams ranked overall. So, LSU had to play more good teams which is more difficult. LSU and Auburn being down hurt Bama in that comparison for Bama in 2020.

This ought to be a fine, objective minded thread.

It seems pretty obvious to me that LSU had better WR/pass catchers while Bama had the better RB and OL. Honestly, I don't see how it's even debatable.

I’m just the opposite. I think Clyde was underrate and still is today. I’ll go as far to say that without him LSU isn’t nearly as successful in 2019 as they were. Their OL was still not very good. I’d give Bamas receiving corps the edge and think Clyde was slightly better than Najee. I think he was a little faster.

I Dont know if it’s safe to say that. There’s a lot more that goes into NFL success than ability. Joe is obviously a superior athlete but Mac Jones has a good arm, very intelligent, and extremely accurate.

Forgot to add will likely end up in a better situation than Joe did as well.

Yes, alabama played 10 SEC games. And only FOURRRRRRRR of those SEC games were against good or decent SEC teams: A&M, Georgia, and (arguably) Auburn, and LSU.

It is A. There is a reason we hired Brady. Our offensive philosophy was just so fricking shite until he came in.

LSU beat OU in the playoffs 63-28 without Clyde.
