2011 LSU OL was dominant. Averaged 200+ yards rushing per contest while playing Oregon, West Virginia, UGA, Bama (twice) and an 11 win Arkansas Team ranked in the top 3 in the regular season finale. Part of a schedule that included 9 ranked opponents.

We played and defeated three separate P5 Conference Champions and won the SECCG.

All with 5 guys who never played a down of NFL Regular Season Football. Faulk suffered a knee injury and never recovered. Hebert had a training camp contract. Lonegran never cut it. Neither did Blackwell. Hurst inexplicably quit halfway into the 2012 season after the UF game.

Boy that LSU 2011 line was dominant, best in SEC history (yeah - right) ... except for some minor things such as...

Game 1 vs Alabama - 148 rushing yds. 41 rushing plays. Passing - 2 ints., numerous sacks.
NC game vs Alabama - 39 rushing yds. 21 rushing plays. Passing - 1 int innumerable sacks and hurries.

Do you really think that O line was one of the best in SEC history? If so, perhaps you should take Cholly-macs advice and get out of Louisiana and take a look around.

That yardage total was the most anyone in the SEC or the P5 rushed for against you all year. By well over 40%. Oh and by the way, you’re wrong. There weren’t “numerous,” sacks. Upshaw had one. That’s it. But nice ambiguous pull one out of your arse type response. I love it when someone uses bullshite ambiguity when they don’t even recall or are too damn lazy to look up the stats to see if their recollection is accurate. Especially when trying to talk down to folks.

Be content-and humble enough-with absolutely whipping our arse thanks to one of the worst coaching performances of all time in a championship setting on the part of our former Head Coach and having the greatest coach of all time on this level on your sideline. We went 13-1 and crushed everyone but you, and even still we beat you on the road in an epic, hard fought war of a game. If anything I’m both inferring and literally saying that it took an even better, far more well coached team to do what your team did to us.

Just because we didn’t win a national title, you dumbasses forget we did actually beat you while beating the dogshit out of every other team on our schedule.

I’d say a team that’s beat three separate P5 Conference Champions and BCS Bowl Game Winners along either the eventual National Champion on their way to a Conference Championship and a berth in the National Title Game while averaging over 200 yards per contest against those teams, amongst 9 ranked opponents and considering the performance in NOLA took away a huge chunk of that average was absolutely dominant.

We were not National Champs. But that doesn’t exclude the OL from being dominant.

But tell me more ambiguous stats using nebulous terms like, “numerous.” Dumbass.

Stop making this about putting someone down and making your team look better. Your team won a national title. They literally cannot look any better.

What LSU did to Teams on their schedule that year had never been done before, and we did it with a dominant OL without a tailback who went for 1,000 yards no less. That took a dominant OL.

Dude... this isn't about "team" it is about OL. LSU had a great team. But OL was not one of the top ten in SEC history. The defense however...

Yeah 2013 Aub o-line was sick. And Tre’s running style meshed so well with them, he basically was guaranteed to slip into the second level of the defense damn near every time. Combined with the true run threat of Marshall, oooh weee. Gets me excited to just reminiscing on.

2012 A&M’s o-line got tossed 6 ways to Sunday by LSU and Florida.

There was one good o linemen on that team. Johnny Manziel just made them all look good cause he could scramble all over the place. You saw what happened when the playing field was leveled.

3 of them were drafted in the top 20 picks, all of them ended up drafted and are still playing.

Gotta go 2013 AU. Basically played hold my dick with everyone including a dominant Bama team and an FSU team being called possibly the greatest ever until AU ran it up their arse.

I'm not sure any defense in college history could stop the 2013 AU run game. And we ran it like 90% of the time so wasn't like there was any doubt what we were about to do each play.

2012 Bama. That SECCG was the most impressive performance ive seen an offensive line put together. UGA had 2 pretty good almost 400 pounders and we manhandled them.

Bamas OL this year is gonna be close to that one.

Crazy to think back at the OL talent during that two year stretch in the SEC West between Bama, AU and A&M.

Thing people forget about AU that year was that their FB was really a part of their OL in that he was incredibly effective at sealing blocks and opening lanes, was his name Prosch? I remember you could set your watch where the play was headed by following him. Kid was a monster.

Also recall Danielson talking about the embarrassment of riches at OT for A&M during that time as well. When you have to hide a 1st round pick at OG someone is doing something right at talent evaluation. Who was the OL coach for you back then?

Didn’t feel like that group was as solid up the middle as the other units, but when you are running a dual threat spread attack you don’t need to be so it was perfect for what Sumlin was trying to do.

Bama was great because that line had no weakness which again was key because Bama had the offensive weapons to be be very diverse that year (AJ, Lacy, Cooper). All of it was enabled by the OL being able to go power or spread it out when asked to by the coaches.

Would argue that AU had the best run blocking unit, A&M the best tackles, but Bama the best overall unit.

While it's absurd to think anyone will be a 10 time All-Pro, trying to guess which OL will make it can be pretty hard compared to other positions.

A little disingenuous, considering Jones would likely be there too if not for the health issues.

Also?

quote:

LG Jarvis Harrison 5th round pick plays for Tampa

He was waived by Tampa last summer, and before that was on their practice squad.

quote:

C Patrick Lewis UDFA plays for Buffalo

Waived by Buffalo last summer.

So no, not "all 5 in NFL".

the 2012 aggie OL was the best I've seen in the SEC. I think 4 of them were drafted in the first round.

Nebraska is the team that used to dominate on the OL. they had some amazing ones.

It absolutely was. Your entire argument about them not being was based on completely inaccurate information you literally dreamed up in your head.

200 yards a game rushing versus 9 ranked teams, three BCS Bowl Game Winners and P5 Conference Champions. One poor outing can be found amongst many team’s annual performances. The same for LSU. But without a 1,000 hard rusher and without a legitimate NFL player, that Line on that team was flat out dominant.

Your revisionist historian routine-which you proved was as ambiguous as it was inaccurate-doesn’t change that.

What's your teams best offensive line?

1990 UT had the following:

1st OT taken in 1990 NFL Draft (#7 pick) All-SEC, All-American
2nd OT taken in the 1990 NFL Draft (#8 pick) All-SEC, All-American,
4th round OG taken in the 1991 NFL Draft (played 18 seasons in the NFL) All-SEC, Honorable Mention All-American
9th round OG taken in the 1991 NFL Draft (played 5 seasons)

1990 was the first time in NFL history that one school had two offensive tackles taken in the top 10 picks in the draft.
