He was a starter and played well, got injured, recovered, but then couldn't beat out Dallas Turner for PT and went into the portal. There's no doubt he's a good player. It's almost exactly what happened to Alvin Kamara.

Technically he was a backup who started playing because the starter in front of him got injured himself during Game 1 (Chris Allen). Then Sanders got hurt too and Turner took his spot and never gave it back.

Our LB class from 2000 and 2021 was pretty flat out ridiculous.

2020
OLB - Will Anderson
OLB - Chris Braswell
LB - Drew Sanders

2021
OLB - Dallas Turner
ILB - Deontae Lawson

Guess he just had a brain fart when he played Achane’s 70yd run wrong and missed the tackle…

yep, he gambled and lost - two guys filling B gap, zero guys filling C gap

other than that he's been ALL SEC caliber, and our run defense has been stout, pass defense has pulled the total defense numbers down

Yeah, getting injured typically means you don't get to play.

He was a starter until that happened.

He became a starter because of an injury though. Dallas Turner was already pushing him for playing time to replace Chris Allen last season.

Same shite. Different post.

Seems you got that shite on copy and paste.

Nice to see you’re not a complete total bitch after that loss last weekend. Only took you a few days to show your bitch arse on the message board.

It was an enjoyable few days.

Drew has been great but he is also #3 the country in missed tackles (12) at LB.

Those are Jake Holland numbers and right there

"Best LB in the nation" is maybe the 3rd best on Bama's team. He's a good player though. Hope to see him covering some wheel routes tomorrow.

And I think Sanders would have done great at Will LB had he stayed at Alabama and changed positions. I am certain he would be starting there now. But he does fit Odom’s scheme very well too.

I’ve still just got so much salt over the whole game to serve even you enough shelf margaritas to get drunk. There were as bad or worse gambles and debacles by us in that game. Sanders has been a huge blessing for us. HUGE BLESSING. Especially considering everything that happened with our secondary.

He is a hard worker and will leave as the all time leading tackler in Arkansas history. But he doesn't have the quickness to make open field tackles. Before the beginning of season last year the staff was so disappointed in his tackling that he lost his starting position to former walk-on Hayden Henry. He did eventually get his spot back but I saw him whiff on tackles that that were embarrassing for him. One of them was against the Missouri State QB that juked Pool to the point that he was sitting on the ground allowing a TD.

Dude, you know you just TOTALLY screwed yourself for next year. For 2023, you must be dead silent as I can promise you that Hogs go .500 or less. And Pittman falls from his graces as a completely unproven HC.

Man…y’all can’t give a guy props for what he has done on the field. Yes…he’s missed some tackles but at this point I’ll take having a guy being in the right spot vs guys running in space…which did happen against aTm and cost us…

Will Anderson and Pool are both exceptional players

Pool does get in the right positions to makes tackles, it is just a struggle for him one on one. That doesn't make a bad player. A good college player but not NFL material.

His strength is gang tackling in the run game that pushes piles back.
