Mizzou was so fricking stupid to fire him.

We had a team that should have won 9 or 10 games. Won 6 and lost to Wyoming, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Football ticket revenue is down bigly because he lost the fanbase. He is a good coach and will be a great DC somewhere, but we made the right decision to fire him. It wasn’t working unfortunately

Mizzou is a program traditionally happy with a .500 season and an Independence Bowl birth.

first let me say great post. Can't wait to see what you come up with by post 10

After that he inherited an absolute no win situation at social justice U.
Ok the Alabama inbred thing checks out (unless you're a closeted LSU fan)

but I thought the players really seemed to love him.
They did. And they do. But as a HC he seems to be a little too much buddy and not enough parent. Seems to have the same issue with assistants.

I think he would make someone a good D coordinator.
He will. and he has. I wish he could stick around as a DC. A P5 HC he isn't

I hope Odom does land some where.

And I know what some think of Mizzou in regards to the SJW crap that went on. I cannot stress enough how what you saw was a small, small number of dumb asses compared to the number of students, alumni (I am one of them), fans, and citizens that were embarrassed by the whole charade.

There were dumb asses all around.
Loftin did more to damage our university in one year (including hiring Rhoades) than anyone since Uehling.

No, revenue was down because of the debacle in 2015. Students down, dorms shut down, teachers canned. You can try to blame the coach, but the troubles at Mizzou are much deeper than that.

I think Mizzou’s success early in their sec tenure when the sec was going through a weird phase will end up causing them to have unrealistic expectations and therefore unhappiness going forward.

Whatever. I’m done arguing with you liberal dipshits. It’s funny the Mizzou posters on here seem to always think they are so friggin smart and witty. They flock in to pat each other on the back and try to maintain some false hope of intellectual superiority because they have nothing else.

If you really think the social justice shite didn’t affect everything Mizzou in a negative way then you are entitled to your opinion, but I believe otherwise. I have lots of Mizzou friends and they said the booster money disappeared after the incident. It may be coming back, but it hurt the school badly for several years.

Mizzou folks - 2 part question

(1) I know it is early, but are there any candidates that people seem to think are the top names? I've seen some of the usual suspects, wasn't sure if you guys had deeper info. I think it made sense to fire Odom, he seemed like a classic in over his head at running a program coordinator. I know you wanted him to succeed, but it seemed clear the trajectory was going down.

(2) Strictly as a defensive coordinator, were you big fans of Odom?

Good luck on the search

Not bad for being Mizzou, at least you are eligible for a bowl game.

quote:

lost to Wyoming, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

But for Mizzou, is that really fireable?

quote:

Football ticket revenue is down bigly because he lost the fanbase.

The concession stand at Preacher Clackum Field in cobb county georgia makes more money on hot dogs and Jerky Chew at little league baseball games than Mizzou makes in football ticket sales. That's before Odom took over.

quote:

He is a good coach and will be a great DC somewhere, but we made the right decision to fire him. It wasn’t working unfortunately

So you are going to hire some other coordinator. Who will also fail, a guy who knows he'll fail, but will take the job for the money, and feed yall snake oil. Odom actually cared. Odom was in it for the long haul.

Yall fricked up. You think it's bad now, the next 10 years for you are going to be worse, you'll think of 6 win seasons in the SEC as "the good old days".
