Not good.
Bama shouldn’t have been the #16 seed behind auburn either.
Beat auburn 3 of 4 times, had 40 wins to their 34, and were # 11 RPI compared to their #19. But Cohen went full fambeluh and made the Barm a 13 seed. No excuses for Bama and we’re long shots to make it out of a super no matter who, but always fun to point out the typical auburn corruption while they hide behind the family moniker and televangelist hypocrisy.

I agree with most of this. It’s not the baseball teams fault that the votes were corrupt.

Not good...
I am banking on the fact that number 1's have not fared very well recently.

You heard it here first. Bama will upset.

Goodness. How does that stack up to the best pitching seasons in NCAA history? You'd have to think a perfect record and sub-1.8 ERA would be up there

Lowder and Skenes have both had historic seasons. Lowder has had a lower ERA but Skenes has had better BAA and K numbers.
Skenes
1.90 ERA
99.1 IP
0.785 WHIP
.171 BAA
16.2 K/9
Lowder
1.66 ERA
108.2 IP
0.934 WHIP
.207 BAA
11.1 K/9
Keener's had almost if not as good a year as Lowder depending on what metrics you like more
Keener
2.23 ERA
64.2 IP
0.820 WHIP
.165 BAA
12.0 K/9
He's gotten slapped around a little the last month though
5/6 vs Boston College - 2 IP, 4 ER
5/20 vs Virginia Tech - 2 IP, 4 ER
5/26 Notre Dame (ACCT) - 4.1 IP, 4 ER

Bama in 3. Wake Forrest reminds me of last years UT team going into the super regionals. Think Bama gonna be a bad matchup for them.

Stephen Strasburg
In one of the finest collegiate seasons in history, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander won 13 consecutive decisions in posting a 13-1 record in 15 starts. For the season, Strasburg led the nation with a 1.32 ERA and 195 strikeouts, against 19 walks in 109 innings. He allowed only 65 hits and opponents hit just .172 with four home runs against him
19 BB facing 327 possible batters...unreal
Skenes has 17 in 99.1. Elite elite elite.

He was the best college pitching prospect of the 2000s, but even those numbers were slightly inflated because he pitched in the Mountain West against some really bad programs (counter point - he pitched against bad teams half the time at super high altitude where the ball flew).
His 2009 starts were against
- Bethune Cookman (32-28)
- San Diego (29-25)
- UNLV (26-32)
- BYU (30-24)
- TCU (40-18) (Super Regionals)
- UC Davis (13-42)
- UNLV (26-32)
- New Mexico (37-20)
- TCU (40-18) (Super Regionals)
- Santa Clara (19-34)
- Air Force (12-37)
- Utah (28-31) (NCAAT)
- New Mexico (37-20)
- Virginia (49-15-1) (CWS) (lost)
Strasburg was insane but he didn't face many high level professional hitters in 2009. Skenes specifically but also the Wake duo to some extent are doing it against future high minor/MLB level bats every Friday/Saturday.

Wake is the #1 seed for a reason, but it’s not like Bama doesn’t have a good pitching staff too and has some pop throughout the lineup. It’s a bad matchup, but in a 3 game series with the arms we have it’s not undoable

Wake looks like a buzzsaw. Clearly the best team in the country. But it is baseball and weird things happen. If Alabama does somehow find a way to win the series, watch out. But that is very unlikely IMO.

The average score in their 3 regional wins was 16 to 2. Holy cow.
