However, what does that have to do with the price of rice in China?

A lot of people don't remember how great the team actually was, is my point. They were a machine.

The only ones that seem bitter about it is LSU and that’s due to insecurity that Bama team would have dog walked 2019 LSU

This is the correct answer.

Most people still think Bama 2020 would beat LSU 2019.

I was just always interested in how LSU fans felt about one of their best players kinda quitting on their team? And, I'm not trolling, Chase is phenomenal. He was going to make millions but Alabama had players that were going to make millions too. That always stood out as a difference between Alabama and LSU to me and wanting to compete for the school.

Probably more the difference between O and Saban in my opinion.

2019 was supposed to be a turning point for LSU. LSU fans convinced themselves LSU was going to be dynastic. And then just one year later it was back to the same old same old.

And yet ALL the so called experts will compare OTHER teams to that 2019 LSU team. Why do you think that's so? I have not heard not ONE expert compare the champions to the 2020 Bama team. I rest my case.

I’ve got no problem the title being a title. No asterisk no anything. A pandemic happened, and the powers to be decided the season would be played with variables. Whatever man, I count the 2020 title.

The issue is calling it one of the greatest teams and seasons of all time when; there were no crowds, entire conferences - not just players - entire conferences sat the season out. Oh , and players did too. The pre-season in team workouts were severely limited due to Covid. It seriously impacted teams overall continuity and overall play. A similar situation happened during the 2011 NFL Lockout when there was limited preseason team workouts. The result was the worst defensive performances in the first 6 weeks in NFL history. There’s a severe disadvantage for defenses when they can’t have the prep , as opposed to offenses it’s not even comparable.

On top of all those things, I don’t know how anyone with a brain can legitimately claim Bama 2020 was the greatest team of all time when they played a 6 win team for the national title. All theoreticals aside, how can you anoint a team the greatest of all time when they beat a 6 win team in the national title game.

. I think the 11-2 Alabama team might be able beat all of the national champions since 2021

2021 and 2022 Georgia would beat 2019 Bama. The rest of the national champions I’d agree 2019 bama beats. 21 and 22 Georgia squads were pretty nasty

Is that extra credit for Bama beating a healthy, well rested, very talented team?

No, it just means you played a team in the national title that had the least impressive resume of any team in the national championship game in college football history.

2014 Ohio state lost their 6th game of the year by 2 touchdowns to a Virginia Tech that went 6-6. OSU went on to defeat Bama in the playoffs and roll Oregon for the national title with a 3rd string QB. Any fan of college football, or really any fan of competitive team sports in general understand the best teams gel at the end of the season after playing multiple good teams and play their best ball. The 2019 LSU team that beat Texas by a touchdown opening week wasn’t the team that stomped A 29 win streak Clemson in the national title 5 months later. Durr.
