I don't remember that, i was too busy celebrating the GOAT 15-0 season.

How many CFB programs do you think could win a NC with this guy?

I guess the TS doesn't realize that you can take Bryant and Saban away and Bama still has more natties than LSU.

Except for the 13 national titles in 49 years of Bryant, Saban, and Stallings why didn’t you win more?

Well , why didn’t all your coaches ever win half that many ?

Duhhh

I agree, but they have not shown that they can win NC's in the AP era outside of the two greatest coaches in CFB, EVER. That's just a fact.

This is your hill to die on? In the past 65 years LSU has two, TWO AP titles…won by 2 different coaches. Alabama has 12 AP titles, won by 3 different coaches. Get the frick out of here.

I guess TS doesn't understand that the OP covers only the AP/Coaches Poll era as is clearly stated.

Bama has 13 AP/Coaches Poll NCs in this era and only 1 other than Nick and Bear.

Anything else they "claim" are not legit IMO.

LSU has 3 NCs other than Nick in the same era. Glad I could clear this up for ya.

There’s 45 seasons removing their tenure from pol era 1936-present.

Looks like you chose the seasons between Bryant to Saban as the “worst” for Alabama. Which 1936 to Bryant (1958), was the worst stretch.

But let’s compare 1936-present, removing best coaches. Alabama (Bryant / Saban) to LSU removing (Dietzel / McClendon / Saban / Miles )this also keeps amount of seasons being compared similar (42 seasons to 45) and removing multiple 10win season, SEC titles, and NC for LSU but keeping worst period of 90s.

Alabama
Win %63
1 NC
5 sec
10win - 10

LSU
Win %59
1 NC
5 sec
10win - 6

Cool. Nevertheless, in the past 65 years LSU has two, TWO AP titles…won by 2 different coaches. Alabama has 12 AP titles, won by 3 different coaches. So much in-state talent, why is it so hard to succeed at LSU?

Alabama has natty's under Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Coach Bryant, Stallings, and Saban. Even if you just want to start with Bryant it's 13. We're good.

Cool. Nevertheless, in the last 65 years Alabama has 1 AP title when removing Bryant / Saban. LSU has 4 titles. Discuss

You know you are getting desperate when you start using arbitrary time frames.

The OP is about the entire AP/Coaches poll era since 1936 and includes both or either poll champions.

You can torture the facts/dates all you want but my original post stands.

Bama has 1 AP/Coaches poll NC outside of Bear and Nick.

LSU has 3 AP/Coaches poll NCs outside of Nick.

Conclusion, until bama wins another NC with a coach that isn't considered a GOAT
people like me will point this out just for fun when it's freezing outside!

The point should be obvious.
The point is Alabama seems to attract one guy who was the greatest when he retired, and another who is the greatest when he retired, both of whom retired from Bama.

Which greatest coach ever retired from your school?

True, but the other 45 years since the AP era started had only 1 NC. This is fun!

I didn’t read, nor respond to OP. I responded to your post that simply referenced the “AP Era.” So I looked it up, and was surprised by what I found in terms of how few LSU had won: in 65 years, they have only won 2. Over the entire existence of the AP poll, they have won only 3. Only 3 LSU coaches have gotten it done. All of that is wild, would have thought LSU had more titles than that. Thanks for bringing attention to LSU’s mediocre AP success.

LSU has three AP titles and one Coaches/BCS Title which equals 4.

Those 4 NCs in either the AP and or Coaches poll puts LSU behind only 7 teams:
bama(13),Notre Dame(8),Oklahoma(7),USC(7),Ohio ST.(6),Miami(5) and Nebraska(5).

Only seven teams ahead of LSU in the AP/Coaches poll era is mediocre? OK Bubba!

Outside of the two greatest, Alabama is pedestrian AF.

Which is a shock to Alabama fans as they believe it’s not the coaches, it’s bc their “Alabama”

You all are proving you are idiots.

Coach Wade at Alabama, 8 season, 3 NC, 61-13 record
Coach Thomas at Alabama, 15 seasons, 2 NC, 115-24-7 record
Coach Stallings at Alabama, 7 seasons, 1 NC, 70-16-1

Alabama has won the most bowls, most SEC titles, has winning records over every SEC team, has a winning record over every team they have played 12 or more times.

Coaches Bryant and Saban help those records but they were already mostly that way before either of them
