I think this is why everyone is so baffled. I’d be right there with him if like our low IQ fans loved the guy and his product, and then turned on him when he left….kinda like Cochran. But this guy has been an obvious problem for some time now. Oh well, glad he’s happy.

I don’t like pissing matches either. They are usually stupid. Still we are a R1 research school and a library designated suppository of legal record with very distinguished alumni in many fields not to mention the arts as you stated, so I find your statement utterly ridiculous and comical, or at least emotional.

I do have massive respect for the arts that have flowed out of Mississippi and changed the country and world for the better. I love Oxford. I think the school is average. I think the same of most SEC schools including Alabama. I tend to hate uppity glass house pissing matches, but that’s what he wanted so I pointed out how hilarious his post sounded, and how lacking in self-awareness it was. It is what it is, no offense to you or any of the other thousands of non-weirdly pretentious OM grads.

Does Alabama have the most oblivious, uninformed fanbase? Is it because they have so many bandwagon fans?

You don’t seem to have any clue what you’re trying to argue over.

Alabama returned three full time starters in the secondary. Three of its four primary LBs. And it’s top three DL among the rotation.

It was as veteran as you’re going to get when guys are routinely leaving for the NFL or transferring. Not to mention just the level of talent on the two deep. The potential for multiple first round picks. And yet we continued to see the same results. A complete lack of any consistency.

Well none of us are ivy or big 10 or ACC except Vandy and Texas incoming but I do appreciate your kind words.

Yeah non of us can compete with those mentioned above but many of us have graduated pillars of institutions across the SEC so maybe we’re both right here.

For your sake, I hope your opponent's QB running right up the middle for 20 yards on a 3rd and 10 delayed blitz call doesn't frustrate you.

We had multi-year starters at:

Each OLB position, 1 ILB position, 1 CB position, 3 Safety+Nickel positions, both DE, and NT too.

Do you know veteran can mean something other than a senior player...especially on a squad that frequently sends players to the NFL in 3 years?

I swear SEC Rant is full of mental midgets.

Dude doesn’t know the difference between a suppository and repository. Color me shocked.

And neither one of them are walking through the door, so it’s a pointless comparison.

You’re acting like he’s some close 3rd to those two.

He’s more like 50th. Above average but nothing impressive.

As I’ve told people on this board, statistically things don’t look bad under Golding, but stats don’t tell the full story. Watch any of Alabama’s big games this year. You will see:

1. Poor scheme and play calling. Watch how often Alabama would take natural edge rushers in Will Anderson and Dallas Turner and twist/stunt them inside to rush against guards and centers, which totally removed them from the play.

2. Inability to adjust. Watch the TN game. #11 torched us and we kept trying to cover him with a safety even though he kept torching our safeties. That’s on coaching.

3. Blown assignments. Again, this is on coaching.

4. Missed tackles. Again, when this is occurring coaches have to see it and fix it.

5. Poor inside linebacker play at times. Golding was the ILB coach.

All of Alabama’s defensive coaches, and Saban too, share in the blame for these things. However Golding is the DC, he’s calling the plays and all of his focus is on the defense, so he naturally gets the lion’s share of the blame.

It cracks me up that Bama fans think just bc they pull for a team that is good it makes them knowledgeable about football. However most (like this poster) are hilariously ignorant.

When you’re finished sucking your own cock for being able to google CFB stats, feel free to return for a reality check. He may be a good hire for OM. Time will tell.

-As pointed out already, he is the first DC since inaugural Saban to give up > 5.0avg points in 4Q
-First DC to give up 2 TD/G average to Conference opponents in Red Zones
-Most Defensive red zone attempts and most TD/G.
-Most 1st downs/G by large margins.

Maybe he’s the best available but there are certainly trends for concerns.

I’ve always wondered if Golding with the Alabama brand behind him, is the true draw in terms of recruiting or if he will carry that momentum with Ole Miss? That remains to be seen I imagine. Though, this will help Ole Miss for sure and could be beneficial for Alabama as well, despite the stats of a Golding.

First, Lane needed some help in recruiting.

Second, when Lane goes to Bama, Golding takes over at Miss.

Third, Well I cant think of anything else
