When he does leave, there is only one direction for you to go. South!!

I have no illusions that the next coach can produce as many titles as Nick Saban has, and no, I don't dread the guy retiring. I mean, I love watching Alabama football win games and titles, but it is, after all, a game.
oh yeah, and though it can only "go south" in the manner that another coach won't win as much, but Alabama is the most consistent title winner in the SEC, and will continue to be so.

I mean yeah I will hate it when he retires. But we’ve always been a power and will always be a power even with the occasional dark periods. LSU is in that same boat just without as much success. I’m not scared of the future just sad that this chapter will be closing soon.
ETA: Frick LSU, Saban retiring won’t fix your issues.

Bama could hire a guy like Les Miles and win 3 more titles.
It's pretty much on coast for the 3 years after his retirement.
Saban's last season will be 2022.

Just a question for you....
How many current SEC coaches will still be coaching at their current school the first season after Saban retires?
3?

The thought that we may some day end up with a coach like Orgeron and I won't be able to understand a word he says terrifies me.

Well that makes a whole lot of sense. Seen a lot of people use it and it was quite confusing. Thanks!

If you're dreading college football stuff that you have no control over, you're doing life wrong my man.

No. Anyone dreading something about college football is crazy.
Saban will retire, we will take a step back but still be better than most of you plebes. I will continue to go to games and have fun. Just as I did prior to Saban.

Good god man...how many lines about Alabama, Saban, SEC in Birmingham, “‘Bama bias,” refs, Ritter, umps, FBI, Chargers, PEDs, processing, fake national championships, are LSU fans going to post today? Don’t y’all have some things to say about your woman head butting harassing, bass drum beating, incomprehensible, alcoholic coach, instead of spending every waking minute praying at the alter of preeminent football dominance about Alabama?

Too busy enjoying the ride to worry about shite I can't control.

Oh, the horror of “just” having a quality program when Saban retires.

Everything after 2009 has been gravy and exceeded my expectations.
I'll miss Saban for sure. Not just for the wins and championships, but because I just love his general demeanor and that he doesn't get caught up in the PR bullshite and does what is right rather than what appears to be right.
But the only thing I'll dread is getting embarrassing coaches like we had prior to Shula. I'll take Shula and his results over the 3 coaches that preceded him over and over. Just because he wasn't embarrassing the program off the field.
So the bar is gonna have to drop extremely low before I start dreading Alabama football.
Which I'm to go ahead and say right now is impossible to happen. Saban has built more than just the current players, it's not a situation where the coach leaves and the schools talent follows and the program is done.
Saw the same thing with LSU, where the success continued in what he built for years after, even as LSU replaced him with a mediocre Big12 coach. Which of course, Saban also put an end to, otherwise LSU would likely still be up there.
TLDR: Saban is sowing the seeds for opposing fans disappointment for years after his retirement. He'll be sitting at the lake, watching the ducks shite while the beast he built keeps on slaying.

What's crazy is during the darkest period 6 or 7 years before Saban. We won the West twice and won the SEC.... With 2 ten win seasons.

I don't know, from Bryant's last year through Saban's first year at Alabama, LSU was 13-12-1 against the Tide.
LSU does just fine against Bama as long as they don't have a Hall-of-Famer on the sidelines.

Remember how hard LSU fell after Saban left LSU?
That's why I don't understand why LSU fans think Alabama is going to fall so hard.
