1997 Auburn game. LSU is up and has the ball late in the 4th quarter. It’s third and 2. At that point Cecil Collins is gashing Auburn at almost 10 yds a carry. They can’t stop him and don’t want to hit him. Dimario calls a pass play , Herb Tyker throws it incomplete and Dummy Craig takes Auburn down to score the game winning TD. He needed 2 fricking yards and took the ball out of the hands of the best player on the field. Dumbest thing I have ever seen

Hell, you should have known before anyone was hired.

That's what "worth it" gets you.

Mike Shula was in a tough spot but the Arkansas game in his last year did it for me. My non-football playing azz knew Bama should've just kept throwing the ball but ole Mikey loved his jumbo package. Arkansas came back and Tiffin missed quite a few crucial field goals. Shula was loyal to a horrible OL coach that he didn't even hire (Price did). That was end of him.

Better question would how much did it cost you before you knew it.

If Jimbo wins 10 games this year he has earned the respect well deserved. Most likely the hardest schedule in college football with 4 opponents ranked in the top 6 preseason poll and also facing the SEC gauntlet.

9 wins and he is doing great.

Not obvious all the time.

After Claiborne retired, Kentucky hired Bill Curry away from Alabama and everyone thought it was going to be the start of something special. Never happened.

Then hired Mumme. I didn't like him, he didn't have any major experience, but he was the coach to keep Couch happy, and it worked for 2-3 years. Then he got us on probation.

I didn't like the Brooks hire, as it was basically "no one else will take it" and he was hired. But to his credit, his last 3 years were really good years for Kentucky.

Everyone thought Joker could take it to the next level, good coordinator, logical choice to succeed, and he came in with confidence, put his coaches in place, and proceeded to run us into the ground.

Stoops has painfully, slowly, built it up, which with Kentucky is what was needed, and we will see how long we can stay in the 8+ win range.

I had an idea the end of the 2014 season. Every season since has confirmed it.

77-0 and 59-0 were quite the attention-gitters.

Both far more representative of A&M than any victory, IMO.

There were two for totally different reasons.
1) I knew Jackie Sherrill was a sleazy guy. Figured he would win but knew it wasn't a matter of if but only when we would be on probation.

2) Sylvester Croom had not been in college football for nearly 20 years when we hired him. No recruiting network. Had to run the "West Coast" offense with east coast players. Knew it was a disaster before it even started.
