The OC at Auburn is just the fall guy for Gus. Gus is a fraud in many senses of the word.

According to most it goes in stages. Gus will relinquish control for a bit and then gradually takes over play calling for the most part or otherwise has a really heavy hand in it. I'd expect that if we landed someone like Freeze.

It's obvious Chip has another job lined up.....or he would make Auburn fire him and collect his buy-out.

Haven't read through the whole thread, but he got $100k just for staying through Saturday, right? Pretty sure that most were calling he was on the way out, just hanging on for the bonus check... Auburn likely knew this as well, but unfortunately, the alternative would have been worse in the form of his buyout.

I think Pruitt is fine when there’s a bigger personality in the room (Fulmer, literally and figuratively, and Saban). Richt and McGarity didn’t have the cojones to tell him to cut the shite or get stepping at UGA so he ran wild.

Big question is does Fulmer let Pruitt be or start to intercede to an irritating degree?

Shouldn't Guster be calling the plays anyway since he is an offensive genius?

Tenn should have fired freeze last week. We'll likely announce he is OC tonight or tomorrow before Bryant's announcement.

Tubby set the bar the highest when it came to blaming/firing coordinators in his yrs at the Black Bears and AU. Gus is climbing fast, however.

Interesting...

Gus throwing people under the Gus bus?

Coordinator at Alabama - get a head coaching gig elsewhere.

Coordinator at Auburn - get blamed and thrown under the bus for the HC's inadequacies.

Yeah that worked out great last time a bama OC with no HC experience got a HCing job. Where's he at now? He's been going backwards.

The OL mess is not Grimes fault.

Auburn blaming OCs is funny. It's always been Gus's offense.

"Auburn" isn't blaming OC. Chip is miserable because he's an OC who isn't allowed to call plays. Moving on to a place where he can really be an OC

I love some of the shite being strewn about in this thread. Auburn's OC leaves, on his own accord, but Gus is "throwing Chip under the bus".

Maybe Gus’ offensive schemes and philosophies just suck, doesn’t matter who works under him.

It's not Chip's either. It's Chip's fault Stidham went backwards but some of that is on the OL. The OLine is the biggest cause of the offense sucking this year. Even if Chip left on his own there still needs to be repercussion for the Oline issues or we will be back in the same boat next year no matter who the next OC is.

The big question is was Chip Lindsey exposed as being a turd when it comes to calling plays at the highest level... or is he what he appeared to be before he was hired at Auburn? Which is to say a very talented OC who gets the best out of mediocre talent.

His stay at Auburn was a disaster. No one can deny that. Stidham went from being a first round pick to being someone who hopes that the CFL is hiring. An Auburn offense worth a fart in a hurricane probably puts them at 10 wins this year.

How will he do at Kansas? Well the defenses will be putrid but the only P5 team with less offensive talent then Kansas this last season was Arkansas. He will not have a lot to work with. If Miles and Lindsey pull out a decent season next year then we can blame Gus for this year I'd think.
