Great sample size. That really derails decades of continued success.
That is where you are stuck in the past. Nobody gives a damn what happened in the 80s and 90s if they are under 30 years old. Duke still has that name recognition because of Coach K. Who knows what happens after he retires? Kansas gets attention when the are good, just like any other team in the country. UNC is not very good, how much press are they getting today ?

Not really sure how a West Coast conference team who piles up on wins for decades helps the argument.
Is Gonzaga a Blue Blood in the minds of the 30 and younger crowd ? I say yes, more so than some of your list of "Blue Bloods".

bullshite.
You are dumb as a bag of rocks.
Does Few get any less respect because he is coaching at Gonzaga?

Top program in the league and you have Zero NCs and one week as the top ranked team and Auburn fans have done lost their mind.
The ranking is sweet, but here are the cold hard facts
To date, Auburn has the best resume in the country. AUBURN.
I have heard numerous bball people say that Auburn has the most complete team in the nation. AUBURN
Deal with it. UK is the second best program in the SEC over the last four or five years, at best.

This is just my opinion only. I hear Pearl likes it in Auburn. He has established himself in the Ark metro area to recruit which is only 2 hours from Auburn. If be can pull 2-3,elite players from that metro area, sprinkle a Birmingham, Memphis, and a couple of the four big metros in Florida, he won’t have to travel much to recruit. That and being close the the beaches for vacations, which he likes to do, I don’t see him leaving Auburn.
I CAN see his agent leveraging that Louisville opening to negotiate a better contract like all agents should do.
Who knows though, maybe he likes horses.

Imagine calling someone a blueblood who has never won a title. This is why all these arguments are mute. Aubie fans don't even understand what a blueblood even is.

If Stoops were to get the Texas job and have success there would it not mean more to the rest of the college football world? Some jobs are just viewed different and carry more weight. Auburn isn't one of them.
Stoops and Bruce Pearl are not comparable. Has Kentucky ever won an SEC championship in football or been to the playoff? Have they even been to a New Years Six or BCS bowl?

He’s one of the best coaches in the country and the best coach that AU could hire. They should pay him whatever it takes.

Sure we do. Louisville is not a blueblood.

Louisville doesn't even have an AD or president currently. They're not hiring a big time coach.

If Louisville is willing to offer Bruce Pearl Saban type money then Auburn should wish him a fond farewell on his way out the door.
Auburn is doing great this year. It really is a magical run for them. But basketball is the 4th most popular sport at Auburn behind football, more football, and even more football.
If they offer that type of money, he should jump ship. Don't even wait till the end of the season to get on that gravy train. Auburn, however, would be foolish to spend that sort of money on basketball.
And before people get all up in arms... unless he was coming off a 4 peat of National titles I would say Arkansas would be foolish to spend that type of money on a basketball coach as well.

So he's going to leave with the #1 ranked team and possibly a #1 seed? Before the end of the season?

Basketball is a close second now to football. If you don't believe that, then you haven't been paying attention.

It's a lot less foolish than paying Gus what they did after 1 SEC championship.

You are partially right. Perhaps with UCLA and UNC.

Auburn has a higher ceiling in basketball moving forward than they do in football
I'm not sure why you'd underinvest in that.

Auburn isn't a blue blood, but they're starting to look like a new blood. And currently they can have the same level of success as any blue blood.

He’s got a massive Lakehouse on Lake Martin he finished building during the pandemic, the University is about to pull together millions to build a new basketball practice facility, and he’s less than 100 miles away from some of the best basketball talent in the country (Atlanta).
Bruce Pearl is going nowhere.
If if helps I can throw up some links to Rick Pitinos former home, restaurants and car dealerships in Lexington from when "He'd never leave, he's too invested"
