that's really precious

You can tell how long they’ve been following basketball in general when they make such constantly ignorant and delusional comments.
The fans of the "Blue Bloods" are unable to accept the reality of the game today. Is anyone really in shock that Auburn is leading the SEC or Alabama won the SEC last year? Is their any shock that UVA stepped over the Duke and UNC to win an NC ? Or Gonzaga is a yearly force in college basketball ? It would be a shock if it happened in CF, but college basketball has changed, and the Blue Bloods are just a great subject matter for a 10-minute segment of College Game Day. It gets the over 50 crowds attention.

If Auburn were to match or beat the offer, and give assurances for the things I want, I'd have a hard time jumping into the mess that is currently Louisville.
From top to bottom they have a shitshow going on right now. It isn't just at the program level where it just involves athletics, it is university-wide. Nothing about Louisville is stable at the moment.
The name Louisville still carries some clout, sure, but when it appears as though most everyone associated with it has been almost actively working to destroy it, it doesn't put them in a great place on sound footing.

Listen, I hate those frickers with a passion, but the Louisville job is up there in the tier behind UK, UCLA, Duke, UNC, and Kansas.
You forgot AU in that top tier. Just ask AU fans and they'll set you straight.

They are a blue blood lite. Y’all better hope that Louisville is not interested, because IMHO, he would seriously consider the job. Ego is too strong with Pearl.
Wait...are you saying lowly Louisville is a better basketball job than mighty AU? You entirely exclude AU from not only the top tier, but top tier "lite"? shite man, you're in trouble now. The Never to Yield Foundation is going to hunt you down and make you lose your job over an internet post. They've done it before, and they'll do it again. You're fricked. Hell hath no fury like barners scorned.

Stupid statement
It's a very true statement.
Nebraska used to be dominant in football. These kids weren't alive during that time and it means jack shite to them.
UCLA and USCw are in the same boat football wise.
History is just that. It's in the past. Kids today don't give a damn about it.

Why would he leave a school he built to the top program in the SEC? This would be like Dabo Swinney leaving Clemson for Florida. Not happening. Kentucky fans are delusional.
Probably because Auburn fans are the only ones who believe they're the top program in the SEC lmao. You can argue best team in the league this year, even though that's still debatable. He can be just as good anywhere else as he has been at Auburn, he can flip a roster in a year unlike football. Basketball minds know the difference of winning and being at different schools. Hell if UK called tomorrow, he would take the job without a hint of hesitation

Then why is Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and even Indiana in the Top 10 in 2023 Recruiting Rankings?
It apparently means something.

You could argue Auburn has been the best team in the league the majority of the last four years. That's the thing. You can have the "good old days". You aren't the top dog in the SEC anymore. You just haven't figured it out.

and how many of those teams are rated in the top 25?
and Duke is losing K.

Nah that’s everyone without blue tinted glasses. For the least 5 years Auburn has the most accolades in the conference. It took Bruce a few years to turn the program around but now it’s a well oiled machine.

You're not wrong. But it's not like the NCAA has dropped the hammer on the other schools that have had the same infractions. IMO coaches have egos and they want to be on the big stage. Will he take the job...I don't know. But if he doesn't, it's more because Louisville has a cloud over them and not because Auburn is a new powerhouse like some seem to believe on here lol

After speaking to people that know more about the situation than I do, I’m not concerned in the least about Pearl moving to Louisville.
For one, the writer that initially brought up Pearl has zero clue what Pearl’s true interests are and was simply speculating who “might” be the coaches that UL could be interested in. For two, Pearl is very happy at Auburn and plans on being at Auburn for the foreseeable future. Talks of an extension and new campus facilities have already been discussed and further discussions will take place after the season. For three, it doesn’t make any sense at all for the Louisville program. Simply put, Louisville is not in a position to bring in someone with Pearl’s history and baggage, and they have other coaches in mind that would be a much better fit for the program at this point in time.

You are partially right. Perhaps with UCLA and UNC.
But Kentucky, Duke, and Kansas are shining as bright as ever right now.

Great sample size. That really derails decades of continued success.

Not really sure how a West Coast conference team who piles up on wins for decades helps the argument.

Can you make one coherent point? The over 50 crowd? Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA and Kansas have won it all or made many deep runs for many people well under the age of 50 to witness.

moron makes moronic statement.
Pearl has built Auburn into a program that can compete with anybody in the nation. Why leave? Just so he can say he coached at Louisville?
