Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson were by far the best two players on your defense when we played you.

We had 2 turnovers on downs against y’all.

1 involved two stuffed QB sneaks
1 involved 3 stuffed runs up the middle from the 3

Anyone trying to diminish the value of Kevin Steele to Auburn football is silly. The man is a damn good DC and his unit shoulders the heaviest burden on that team. Steele has to compensate for a stale, stagnant and ineffective offense every damn year.

I can always count on you and Dawgslife for the reasonable takes

Why would I be embarrassed? Do I look like Jay Jacobs or the President we ran out of town?

Alabama had several stellar hires before Saban, who was on everyone's list at that time. One bought hookers, one was run off by racists before coaching a game, Shula, DuBose, any others?

who in the hell was this?

The high salary is to keep him from leaving for a less lucrative position. Why? It's because Aubies want him there as the HC in waiting. Just as soon as Malzahn's buyout becomes way less than the current $26M he's gone, and Steele is there to take his place. They sure are not about to give it to Chad Morris. lol

No , Steele is 62 years old and is padding his high 3. He is vested in the Alabama Retirement system after next year and AU knows he isn’t going anywhere because of that.

Wow...but why? He's a good DC, but I don't believe he deserves to be paid what aranda was making here at LSU. He isn't as good of a DC as aranda was and I believe that's pretty evident now. Thank God we let him go to Auburn and hired aranda, one of the biggest coaching moves that eventually led to a national title for LSU. Steele doesn't deserve to be paid like that lol. He's not even close to being the caliber of coach that aranda is. Whatever, Auburn is allowed to waste their money if they like. I actually am glad they're doing it. Geaux Fightin' Tigers.

frick Auburn, but I don't think it's dumb to pay a DC or OC this much if it means keeping them. That's enough pay to keep them from just about every position other than medium to larger sized P5 HC offers.

I wish Alabama would pay them more than most any P5 HC offer once they prove themselves like Pruitt.

How exactly is that evident?
