Are you joking? You claimed the offense not the defense won the Iron Bowl and you were wrong.

You keep digging the hole and you get slapped down again on every post.

What's the guy who held them to twice that score getting paid?

Anytime a coordinator controls 50% of the team he should be paid well. We all know our Head Coach is an offensive guy and does nothing on defense.

I feel Like they’re about to drop like a ton of bricks

Brown and Davison have anchored that defense the last 3 years thisnis their ranking by year

2016 Total Def. 28 Scoring 7
2017 Total 14 Scoring 11
2018 Total 37 Scoring 15
2019 Total 28 Scoring 17

And I firmly believe a strong DL is the only way to have a good defense

Gotta wonder how they’re gonna look losing 2 great DL.

They have been on the cusp of just being bad the last couple years.

Coachcrisp....Isn’t it cold out there at Legion Field today channeling “The Bear” and leaning against that goal post tore up on Jack Daniels..... for mercy sakes man! If ignorance was bliss... you would be living in Eutopia! Thank you, thank you, thank for truly exemplifying a true 99%.

It’s crazy that he’s doing so well at Auburn, his defenses there look awesome and he makes great adjustments. His LSU tenure was so awful, no clue how he turned it around so well, good for him

Honestly, I think a lot of times it is more of a fit than anything. Whether it is a personality, culture, scheme....just the right fit. That goes for assistant coaches as well as head coaches.

But i still think he is getting paid for a game auburn lost because getting shredded in their last 2 games wasn’t a good look. Bama i get, and auburn’s d made big plays that won the game, but got absolutely shredded.

31 to Minnesota? Not quite a “highest paid” performance this year.

But then again, who did?

Alabama's averaged more than 35 points a game against Steele defenses at Auburn, including 45 last year! Do you honestly think that Auburn's defense won that game last year?

Now where in the hell did I claim that the OFFENSE won that game? If anybody should get credit for winning the game, it should be your field goal kicker who was 4-4 from outside 40 yards....and last time I looked, they were part of the offense!

Yeah, that was definitely a bad game and out of character.
D did well against UGA and while we gave up a lot of points vs. Bama, the D made the big plays that made the difference.

Respectful post here. Auburn has recruited well over the past years and has 4-5* DL players who just lack the playing time. As we all know you must continue recruiting, developing or get left behind in this arms race. Yes there will be a drop off but Coaches Steele and Garner will have them ready.

Maybe they should've waited to see what he can do without first rounders on the DL

As it relates to coaches...how much do they contribute to making a player(s) first round selections? It seems like there was an uptick (minus Fairley) for first round d line talent with KS got to AU. Monty Adams (can't remember if he went in first round, maybe second), Derrick Brown, and Marlon Davidson.

On the flip side, someone like Byron Cowart comes through and washes to Maryland.

So if you have 1st round talent, you either recruited such talent...or you developed such talent. TLDR version, Steele either has recruited the 1st round talent or developed it, so he justifies the contract. Gus should have to pay it out of his pocket though. Complete hack he is.

Just read where he held the NC 3 out of the last 4 years to their lowest points of the season. Pretty impressive considering how the Offense didn't help him much.

Really? Then just flip back and show us where I posted that the offense not the defense won the game. I'll wait.

Same difference. I know you don't know what a decent PK looks like, but Carlson did what he was supposed to do. Defenses usually don't score multiple TDs in a game.

That's exactly right! Never did I say the offense won it. In fact, I said if ANYBODY won it, it would be the field goal kicker who was 4-4 from outside 40 yards.....and the last time I looked, he was thought of as an offensive player.
