I think it's dumb, but I don't have a very high opinion of Christianity or Auburn football to begin with.

Please don't compare Tebow and his works to these arse-clowns.

Well, he's failing miserably with Eric Smith, Fairley and Cam. Just saying....

As a Christian, I think it is pretty distasteful and unfortunately paints a "prosperity" type gospel - meaning, if you beleive in God everything will work out. There are parts of the world where if you are known to be a Christian it is certain punishment, imprisonment, and even death. Football, along with many other things in life, can be used to refine character - I think that is what God is concerned about... not trivial things sucha as wins and losses.

I disagree about Cam and Fairley. You seem to be right about Smith. He is the bad egg in the bunch. Until this decade, Fairley would have been considered mean on the field, which is exactly what you want out of a big, physical defensive tackle. Nowadays he is considered "dirty", and even that has a lot to do with all of the Auburn hate this season.

So we shouldn't thank God when our hard work pays off, because that would paint a picture of a "prosperity-type gospel".

God certainly uses the negative things in our life to refine us, but when hard work pays off, we should certainly be thankful to Him.

I believe God loves us like His children, which is not to say that He gives uss every selfish desire we ask Him for, but it does mean that He cares about more than the big picture. He is not an impersonal God.

Auburn hate this season????? And who caused this hate???? This great clean program? All football teams pray before and after the game.... Your telling me that Auburns prayers were more important to God than Oregons??? God does not play football. There are great Christian athletes on both sides of the field in every game. If what you are saying is true, Tebow would never have lost a game, ever....... Do a little research on the questionable Churchs and people who use God to cover their real intentions. Begin in Georgia. Just google. Every Christian is required to be aware of his or her actions and how they appear to the public. Visiting a school every week is a great PR action, it covers a multitude of sins. This has been done by so many programs that to say Auburn's is special is beyond the pale. God does not play football and he will not be mocked.............

I absolutely agree.. When I heard Chizik say in a video after a win "God is so good". What is he saying? That god helped with their win? that he "blessed" Auburn more than the other team?

He could mean many things.. but to me it's off-putting. I think it's fine to pray before a game for certain things but don't credit God with a win.

However, I still find myself sending a shoot up prayer before a big play at the end of a game. knowing it will not affect anything.

Because if Cam is God's chosen instrument, I'm afraid God is a bad judge of character.

Can't believe I'm taking up for Cam but many "instruments of God" were pretty shady characters.

I think you are missing the point of praising God after a win. They aren't crediting him for giving them more points. They are thanking Him for giving them the opportunity.

The only thing that bothers me is that I believe that certain things are at play that reflect badly on the Christian faith. If I was in Chizik situation though, I wouldn't just not praise God for the win. I really don't know how to handle the situation.

It's obvious that not everyone is "all in".

Cam declared himself an instrument of God. I don't take that as "thanking" God for the opportunity. Regardless of if he took money, Cam is a jerk.
