Prayers sent

Get ready for your DBs to play 15 yards off the ball. And they will never look for the ball.

I have to think OP was thinking he'd get a better reaction. Typical of Mizzou fans, they only watch Mizzou and know nothing about the league, other players, othe coaches, SEC tradition, etc. They only know Meff Mouff U

My fricking God. Somebody hired that sorry arse. Dude doesn’t have a fricking clue how to defend a spread offense. Many highly rated football players’ careers were ruined by that man.

So the defensive version of Dooley.

To be fair, Mizzou wasn’t in the SEC when Roof was here

Oh man...the leaky Roof defense. I feel bad for you guys if that happens. Man Ted Roof is like Brian Van Gorder...manages to continually fail upwards.

Roof was at GT from 2014-2018. It was an awful experience. From the type of players he liked to recruit for his defense to the inability to develop players to his terrible defensive strategies.

Vs. Miami in 2017, they had the last drive to try and win the game. Roof put his Corners 8 yards off the LOS. Richt called three straight swing passes and Roof never adjusted to a single one of them. Richt saw it and went hurry up and they got 45 yards from the same exact play in less than a minute.

Prepare to give up a score in any 2 minute situation. Roof goes complete prevent and will always give up points of some kind before the half or to allow the other team to win the game if they have the last shot.

We couldn’t stop WR screens ever. We were playing too far off of the ball and literally didn’t know how to tackle. I honestly didn’t think we’d ever field another good defense during and after his tenure.

Put it this way, if he was our DC in 2013 and 14, we probably win 2 more NCs. Ellis Johnson was the worst DC in modern day football.

He was real bad but he also held the highest scoring Oregon team to 19 points and no doubt AU has another title if he had been retained by Gus in 2013...thats how horrendous Ellis Johnson was. Everything everyone else said is true. In an era where every team can defend the wr screens and bubble screens your team will give up continuous chunks of yardage against the most basic of bubble sceens. Enjoy

Or, and think about this for a second, he was asking because he legitimately didn’t know much about the guy...

If you have Cam Newton and score 45+ points a game then Roof's defense will only give up 37 points a game and you will win a lot of games.

You do have a Cam Newton for next year right?

He's is as a DC as Gus is a HC. Sometimes good and sometimes an idiot. HE Will flat out suck in some games he shouldn't.
