I don't dislike Golding. I actually like him. He seems like the kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with (wink, wink). But the comparisons between him and Kiffin are absurd at this point. It so much resembles what LSU fans did with Saban and MIles early on it's spooky.

Agreed. People need to realize that Golding has already accomplished so much more in 6 games than Lane has his entire career.

And by your logic Pete has now coached 4 games and that is enough of a sample size to say he willl work out. Look man, you asked a question. I gave my answer. Sorry you don't like it.

Ask Coach O...
I don’t think the Coach O comparison is a fair one.
Orgeron steadily built up the 2019 team in the 2.5 seasons prior with 1.5 seasons of Danny Etling at QB and a 2018 Joe Burrow.
Orgeron was hyperfocused on getting a championship and was pretty legitimate up until holding the trophy after 2019 season.
Taking a victory lap and COVID was his downfall as he seemed to lose that unwavering drive to win a title after 2019.

Don't most teams have their best years when they have Heisman contenders at qb?
I think the question has less to do with the actual QBs, and more how the coaches can reload once they're gone.
Are you post-Tua Saban that just reloads with more elite players?
Or are you post-TLaw Dabo that just falls off of a cliff?
Lane has at least proved that he can reload a bit imo. Golding will have to do that next year, but he definitely can coach well enough to take advantage of his current stud QB

When they admit they were wrong about Kalen DeBoer. I’ll go first as a Bama fan. I was way wrong about Golding. I couldn’t understand for the life of me why Saban kept him all those years….especially when he would drop Will Anderson into coverage…LOL. He’s doing a great job.

When he has to replace the players lane recruited. Switzer won a Super Bowl with jimmy’s players.

Better HC than coordinator
It certainly looks that way. He couldn't get out of Tuscaloosa fast enough when he was our DC.
I hope he does well as a HC. I heard he was about the most chill dude to be around as you can be. Nothing like Saban, probably a lot like O.

Golding has accomplished more than most ever have in only 7 games. That crazy talk, but true blue.
The wildest stat I've read on Golding is what Saturday means to his very short resume. If he wins against the Gators, it would be his 6th-ranked win in only 8 games coached. That's more than 48 Power 4 teams in the last 5 years. (Like the Barners
To be made an underdog to a team out of the top 20 when ranked top 5 yourself doesn't happen often. Only 5 times since 1978. That is disrespectful.

I mean no one takes the guy seriously and it's a classic letdown spot after Ole Miss Super Bowl last week.

Maybe people should start taking him seriously.

Do you have some validated examples of him not recruiting that were raised by Ole Miss fans prior to November 2025?

He's 3 games into his first actual season as coach... pump the brakes a tad.

If he wins against the Gators, it would be his 6th-ranked win in only 8 games coached
I think he could be a very good coach, and I hope he is. He's from LA and seems like a cool dude. I think most rational people would want to wait and see how he does without the best player in CFB playing quarterback.

That’s not exactly how that works. Recruiting websites don’t report coaches who aren’t going out recruiting. They report coaches who are going out and recruiting.
And he did not go out and recruit. He did act as the closer and was really good at that when players were ready to commit already, but just wanted to meet him.

We've always said he's not a recruiter.
