What need would she have to try to find an attorney but for filing a lawsuit for damages?
A judge can’t give her the relief of an apology and a citrus bowl suspension. No, money hasn’t been directly mentioned, but her trying to hire an attorney to take her case has, by her in her testimony
I was also responding to a post about her goal being a payout

Yes. As a response to this...

Now I am leaning that she knew he was kidding and plans on getting some kind of compensation
Not as a claim that she was demanding money.

You seriously underestimate what is needed to fire Ed.
If they fire him, it will be because he went 5-5 and they just want this shite to go away.
If he had gone 10-0 and won the natty last year, there is absolutely no way this would sink him.
Wins and losses always trump everything. Everything else is just an excuse.
I would not be shocked at all to see Ed get fired if he stumbles again on the field this fall.
But we are going to need a lot more smoke than what we've seen so far to get Ed fired between now and when the season starts.
The current smoke makes him more expendable, for sure. But there are plenty of actual politicians in Louisiana who would start to feel a lot of heat if they prematurely went after a coach who is still beloved by very many in south Louisiana.

I honestly think there's a good chance (now) that she does get some kind of settlement offer from LSU.
Not that I think she would win in civil court (barring some new evidence) but now that the school has got so much negative press they might want to quietly "make it right".
I certainly wouldn't rule it out. It's way premature now as the school is still trying to figure out just WTF actually happened.

Boy Ole Miss and State are going to pay for this.

What exactly do they hope to accomplish?
"I truthfully do not recall talking to Mrs Scott. She deserves to be heard and I admire her for her courage."
He'll repeat a variation of that a dozen times...

Big words coming from a fan of a team that can’t even beat our worst team in the past decade.

This is exactly what they want. Then if the phone records prove otherwise, he's fricked.

Eh, her case would get dismissed for lack of standing very quickly. This isn’t one of those situations where exposure to discovery would entice LSU to pay her off. They wouldn’t even get that far

and meanwhile the NCAA just watches the goings on

I don't know about that but we both agree she would be very unlikely to prevail in court.
What I'm trying to say is that LSU might settle for alleged noble reasons and not because they actually believe she would win in court. The university may not like the optics they currently have of calling a 70+ black lady a crazy old liar without actually saying so.
People pay out settlements for all kinds of reasons though usually because they don't want it ever seeing the light of day and that ship has sailed and is now wedged aground in the MRGO.
Honestly, I don't think she would accept any money without Guice admitting what he did or Coach O admitting he talked to her. I believe her when she says all she wanted was accountability and respect.

Who is she suing? I think O’s initial comments constitute publicly accusing her of lying.
Idk what damages she can claim LSU did to her.

LSU could probably fire Coach O “with cause” if he declined to appear before that hearing. Would give LSU an easy out on any buyout of his contract

Why do you think LSU is looking for a reason to fire O?

Exactly...she doesn’t have standing to sue anyone, so paying her off wouldn’t even make logical sense

Anything related to sexual bias, prejudice, assault, or any type of violence against women, real or imagined, in 2020 & beyond is a giant issue much bigger than cheating at football.
Playing the "SEX" card is exactly like playing the "RACE" card. It doesn't matter if the accused is innocent. The accusation alone is judgement in ltself in today's cancel culture. No proof is required. You can destroy just about anyone with a mere rumor.
I have no knowledge or hint of info about any of the allegations against the LSU athletic dept - but if Ed O did any of the things any of these women accusers claim he's done.
I think Ed O is a buffoon - a fool on a lucky streak destined to meet a bad dose of reality. Ed can't really hide from this. He can try but he'll look bad and incur the wrath of the female Louisiana legislators - and many in the public nationwide. The only way Ed escapes IMO is to defend himself. If I was advising him I'd tell him to show up, make a compelling opening statement, and testify with a lawyer by his side.
