This wins the interwebs for 2020 imo.

I don’t think “conservative” has anything to do with it. In fact, I think Leach likes Trump because he’s a rebel, quite the opposite of conservative.

I don’t want to debate politics on here, but I agree that it matters, at least right now. In a year or two, maybe politics will have shrunk back to its proper size.

For those yapping about Leach and the equipment shed, try checking out the "rest of the story."

LINK

I'm on record here as a fan of Leach, not the teams he coaches. I'll ask a simple question ... why is everyone so up in arms about this, but it was a great thing and remembered so fondly for Bear Bryant (and I'm not comparing the two coaches, don't even think about going there) to come in and run off all the "riffraff" from the Whitworth regime at Alabama in '58?

They hired the guy to coach/run the program, he gets to do it his way, and if it doesn't work out his arse is the one that will be fired. But he gets the chance to do it his way ... and to get the people in there who will do it his way ... until that moment.

IMO them beating LSU out of the gate was the worst possible thing that could happen because it set expectations way too high for this season. I figured he'd do good to be .500 this year.

If Pirate Mike doesn't right this ship in the next couple of weeks he'll be docking in the WAC next season.
no he won't. you're a georgia fan, you know as much about the narrative within the state fanbase as i know about georgia: shite from shinola.

outside of the standard internet sports forum homers that all sec schools have, the mississippi state fanbase is not delusional. we are all on board with leach and in full support of him draining the swamp that foehead created.

and if that bana fan who claimed joe foehead was the 2nd coming of almighty allah himself is even halfway correct and cohen plugs the hole and prevents leach's draining of the swamp, then we will find out about it, and it won't be good for the ad if we do. if anybody is on thin ice with a silent majority of donors and alumni it's john cohen --not mike leach.

if anybody goes it'll be cohen. he has wrinkled many-a-lumni's stink whistle with his ineptitude. i haven't liked the son of a bitch since his baseball coach was caught sending dick picks in the dugout. i'd be thrilled if we kicked his arse to the curb by 12:00 pm central standard time, but Mike leach ain't going anywhere unless it's his own doing --it certainly won't be because the fanbase ran him off.

if i knew that it'd backfire on him i'd almost double dare cohen to frick with the pirate and how he runs his ship, because cohen may not like the atypical response he'll get from a very atypical man and a very "atypically annoyed with their athletic director" fanbase. what's cohen going to do if he can't find justifiable cause to fire the man? fire the man? this year? this way? with his track record as an ad? HAH.

no matter who the coach is, cohen fricking with mike leach might be the final nail in cohen's coffin, because when folks like myself (i.e., people who can live a completely happy life with or without ncaa and mississippi state sports --especially after this year and going forward when the "escapism" that sports offered was irreversibly tainted with reminders of the crumbling society around us similar to the way a once good & faithful wife is tainted after jody gives her the strange) have grown tired of his shite then cohen can be sure that the maniacal portion of the fanbase, alumni and donors are really rolling up their shirtsleeves. the man is not in the good graces of a continually growing number of people --people that matter, people that are swinging a much bigger dick than the average 6 incher.

oh by the way,

This may be a come to Jesus moment.

I am by no means an expert in the Miss State program, but it seemed to me like Moorehead never really did the "decruiting" process.

Maybe benching some guys will help motivate them.

No one was really expecting much from Miss State this year, were they?

TLDR. Other than this:

Most weren't that I'm aware of. LSU reset the narrative in some people's heads though I think.

But no, MSU knew going into this we were in rebuild. We didn't expect to lose to Arky though.

no. not at all. but of course once leach, a man whose reputation precedes him and who has a quasi-cult following and cult-like dissenters (mostly due to their intolerance to segments of his worldview) saw him beat a team that state has beaten, what, half a dozen times since Gorbachev became the Soviet leader? when he beat the national champs opening weekend and set a passing record on them to boot, the media ran with it and we all ate it up.

2 losses later and the rest is, as they say, history.

it's a rarity for there to be any "in between" with leach: you either like the shite out of the old boy, or you hate his toxic white male guts. (same goes for lane kiffin, of which i am in the former group as far as my feeling on kiffin.) problem for leach is, many (most) who control the narrative regarding the world of sports are in the latter group. (same with kiffin.)

nobody was expecting much this year, we're just all 21st century humans living in a highly developed western society: we've the patience and attention span of a brain eating amoeba. that said, there are other forces at play that want to see leach fall from as high of a stool as they can put him up on. it's what they do. it's their job to create a narrative, to perpetuate it, and then kill it, and it's why
quote:

No one was really expecting much from Miss State this year, were they?
is such a perplexing thing.

"the fall" is the best part for them, but nowadays it's not just the kind of "fall" that the average auburn fan wants to see (i.e., lose a game to auburn). there's more to the instantaneous turn on leach, particularly from the media who sets the narrative for homers (and sheeple in general) to run with and tell their friends.

it's due to the "tainting" of the sport that i mentioned in my post above. the source of which is due to a roach known as "politics and politicians" infiltrating into a home where they are not welcome, and it's a roach that, if we sports fans have any sense left at all, ought to crush like a roach anytime we see it has intruded into our home.

no sane human being in our fanbase expected much out of leach this year, with one exception to that expectation: righting the, errr, ship. 2020 was an "expect the worst, hope for the best," scenario as far as the win/loss column goes, and if cleaning the dirty house jomo left us with is what it takes to get wind in our sails and, according to the bama fan, our ad wants to get cute and snowflakey and politically correct, then it won't bode well for the ad. if for no other reason then because regular people in the fanbase are sick of the shite: sick of politics in sports, sick of losing games by running that sloth of an offense jomo ran, and sick of cohen himself.

hell, even the homers are calming down and using that long-lost gift God inherently gave them called "introspect" and remembering that one thing they expected a few weeks ago from leach was that he clean up the bed jomo shite in so that we could get this show on the road. likewise, they're remembering one thing they did not expect from leach in his first couple of years, year of the covid or not, was an all-out domination of opponents.

it's just that the people who are paid to make us believe something made alot of people believe it, and it's why your question is so accurate, and so perplexing: what the hell happened with this guy and the narrative from a month ago? the filthy media, that's what.

Leach will be fired after next season. It was a lazy hire that would never work in the SEC. Competent Defensive Coordinator's can shut down that one dimensional offense with ease.

So what? I remember Saban's first year at LSU. He ran several players off and simply kicked others off the team. I remember thinking, what the hell does this idiot think he's doing?!

Leach has always been a arse. Plenty of people at Tech was glad to see him go.

He is a good Big 12 coach, but in the SEC your better be more than a one trick pony.

No
I was implying he’s not off to a bad start on loading up with a QB and 2 good WRs already
